After Beta - Will the game graphics improve?

    Hey!

Im just wondering (after googling a little bit) will the graphhics improve after the beta? As for now the graphics could improve a lot. Would really love to see Defiance on CryEnginge (Not that its going to happend, but would be epic!)

What with the physics and particle system the Havok engine uses and the amount of on screen players and mobs during certain events and during PvP, having better graphics would limit the game to people with higher end PCs. So i don't think its financially a good idea.

You can't argue with games like BF3 either because they are not large scale MMOs but more like instanced battle grounds

Also, the graphics are already better than the console version and I doubt they want that much separation between the versions.

Game looks great even on my older rig... I would imagine if it does not look good to you, there are prolly some issues with the hardware you are using.

Why does this question appear in damn near every mmo beta?

Stop and think for a moment, do you really believe developers are going to waste time producing a complete set of substandard graphics for every art asset in their game, or a substandard engine only to replace everything a short while later?

Sure, occasionally there are place holders, toolbar icons, item icons and the like, all typically left over from very early builds, but not the entire game. It would be a complete waste of resources and time, developers and artists work hard enough in the run up to release without adding work that has no practical application.

A single developer did this about 7 years ago, to add impact to their release when game engines were not as advanced and graphics detail not nearly so complex; since then, every new release brings the same silly question.

In answer to your question, NO; nor will you see it elsewhere where release is mere days or weeks away. If you ever get into an alpha test, sure you will see graphics evolve as it moves to beta, but never from a pay2 play title about to release. Free 2 play is something else entirely, the recent trend appears to be, get it out the door as early as possible, and use the "beta" tag as a blanket excuse for everything that's broken or utter ****e, then pray you have time to fix it before revenue dries up.

At the moment I am using my laptop, the graphics are good, but could always look better. When Im home and will be able to use my gaming computer, it will probably look a little bit better, using 720P not 1080P at the moment.

And the game could with have multiple choices for us with a gaming rigg, and for those who dont got a gaming rigg. There is nothing stopping them from making a great game with great graphics. It wont stop me from playing it, its not a complaint nor is it a demand. It is simply a question.

Personal opinion; go take a look at Hailan rising, city of steam, War Thunder, POE, District 187, Mechwarrior online, and frankly a whole raft of other recent f2p releases that carried the "beta" tag while accepting cash transactions. All released early to generate revenue, then making sweeping changes to game play and shifting balance every which way from Sunday after they start to accept customers money.

The only real issue I see happens to be the limited video options available. That said, the game's performance is stellar so far and I'd rather it stay that way.
