Ghost Recon and Rainbow 6 USED to be the goto console shooters if ya wanted something a little more realistic and tactical compared to COD and BF.

Future Soldier was a great game but the serious lack of mic use and a few horrible gameplay decisions from UBI kinda killed it. I still play but it can get really frustrating playing with monkeys.

Who knows wth happened to Rainbow 6 Patriots. Vegas is still good if ya don't mind playing Team Leader on one map 24/7.

idiots. i miss the good old days of LIVE. the last 4-5 years have been a pain

Not true. After you bag a few people. You start to like it. Plus if you're shot, that's why we have Corpsmen. Plus chicks dig the scars. Haha.

Yeah I think impact is a another huge issue. As well as properly behaving AI. A shotgun slug, sniper round or 7.62, will knock you right off your polished boots every time. And then if you waste 2 or more of a small squad, the enemy usually runs. In this game, there's reputation. But it's meaningless. Most people when they hear the Marines hit their shores, start shaking in their boots. Let alone a terminator Ark Hunter.

Oh let's not forget rate of fire! How many times I've had people just run right through full auto unscathed in the lil FPS games. Ugh...

Indeed. Early Conflict games, Rainbow 6 series, Ghost Recon series really showed the combined arms/ fire & maneuver/ team-work skills (then again those were 4 person co-op, everything now seems multi-player live). Cannot count how many times I have seen idjits running down main street out in the open, blasting away on full auto wasting ammo, then tea bagging their victim. John Wayne/ Chuck Norris days like that are very few and far between. After 10 yrs in the green machine love gaming but really starting to hate the screaming CoD/ etc wanna-be's. Lucky that I found a group of gamers to run/ hang with that are active/ ex military. Games are now mass profit driven, let's face it ... reality can be a game killer for mass profits. Cover, concealment, suppression, teamwork ... do not make the hungry masses drool for a game. Thanks for the tip on Arma-3, check out Sniper Elite as well. Leave no one down, leave no one behind. Thank you for your service to those who took the oath.

The closest media I have seen that has peeps reload weapons properly was the movie Heat(escape from the bank). Otherwise I have yet to ever see a game or another movie that has proper IA's.

Yeah games are fun, don't get me wrong. But having been in the $h!t, these games make me bring my teeth from time to time. As for the gamers who run their mouths. Heck, I love them. Gives me a chance to commence aggressive voice chat. Which I'm pretty good at from time to time. I suppose in football, the people screaming at the tv are Armchair Quarterbacks. So I guess FPS's have to have their Armchair Commandos.

Ah well movie wise, I'm a big fan of Full Metal Jacket, Fire Base Gloria, Saving Private Ryan, We Were Soldiers, & Tears of the Sun. And I have to give the SEALS props for Act of Valor.

I for one call bullcrap, I am prior service Recon, medically discharged after two tours, 1 in Haditha, Iraq, and one in J-Bad, Afghanistan. And I for one never "enjoyed/liked" killing someone. Granted I am going home at the end of the day and I did and will continue to do what I have to do to survive if I am ever placed back into a situation where it involves taking another life. But did I like it? Hell no, and if you say you enjoyed it, then you are either lying or you're just literally Section 8 and should be discharged. There is nothing glorious about taking a life, but with that said, sometimes a necessary evil must be committed in order to achieve a greater good. Again I cannot stress this enough, there is nothing "fun" about being shot at, it is scary as hell and ANYONE who has ever been shot at will agree, that they were scared, because fear is what keeps you alive.
