    PS3 vs PC

I have been playing the beta on the PS3 and also got a PC code after Fridays live stream on twitch. I noticed the pc version seems to be more polished than the PS3 version. i.e graphically and interactively. I realise that these are only Betas and are not the finished games but was not expecting to see such a different between the two formats. Does anyone know if the finished articles will be this different or is it just a case that the ps3 beta is a much earlier build than the current PC beta?

The reason for the question is I have a pre-order on ps3 but at the moment I am wondering if I should switch to PC.

Most games that comes out on multiple consoles are developed for PC, and therefor the PC version will look better, and not just that. PC gamers usually have a lot better hardware then a console. And therefor can have better graphics, larger maps, more players on maps and so on. Id recommendent that you switch to PC, got a PS3 myself, after I got a gaming rig I stopped using the PS3 for gaming. PC is simply better

I think they will be the same at release. One of the complaints of Defiance from PC players seems to be that the whole game and interface is designed for consoles. It seems like they are using the same interface and UI for all platforms as much as possible.

But from what I have read on these boards, I dont have a console, it sounds like the PS3 and XBox versions of the game are an older build then the PC one. Probably because they had to be available to Microsoft and Sony a while ago for this weekend and a lot has been changed recently in the rush toward release.

Of course to the question, I have always read that PC with mouse is much better for shooters, but since my console days ended back with a Super Nintendo I can only repeat what I hear.

From what I understand Defiance was designed for use on the console, it seems to be a console port to PC. That being said, PC users have requested better graphics so maybe they've gone ahead and added higher resolution textures, etc. Having not seen the console versions of the game, I can only speculate, but PCs will usually be able to handle higher fidelity graphics better than consoles.

The biggest issue is the PS3 build is several months older than the PC build. PC build is running a more recent version. Also the pc can play at a higher native resolution than the ps3. PS3 is going to by 720p or 720p upscaled to 1080p. So you'll get a better image quality on the pc. I played the ps3 beta as a ps+ member and I'm glad I went ahead with the pc. Just felt right to me, but that is my personal preference. Plus with a little tweaking in your video drivers you can customize various things to make the game look much better than the console versions.

In the end it all comes down to, which platform are you more comfortable with, and where do your friends reside? That seems to be the deciding factor for quite a few players. Ultimately the game will be very similar with VERY minor differences between systems.
