As a source I find that article unreliable. They seem to be basing it on previously debunked statements from various microsoft employees. A link to the release from microsoft would be better. So far there is no information there that is not already out there.

I think there will be a larger dent in profits than MS realizes... at the xbox forums...home of some heavy fanbois.... it is almost 99-1 against the xbone. Majority plan on staying with current gen or moving to PS for the first round of new consoles unless something changes. It is ALOT of backlash going on. Even the ...30 or so... people I know personally are not getting one. Granted about half of them had to be told about all of the BS with the Xbone... but the word is spreading....

Wonder if we can start a kickstarter campaign to make commercials advertising this on National television? LOL...that would be awesome.

How is the reported $100 price tag on games not the issue here?

I mean if you can afford $100 for a game you can afford an internet hook-up (I'm generalizing I know). I can deal with a 24 hour check-in and if that means I have all the updates I need to play then cool. While having the Kinect recording me just means that Microsoft will know I flop around like an idiot while playing movement based games, I think we all know that by now. It also reads facial expression to gather emotional data, means they will have scientific data that people have fun while playing games. Also not a problem for me.

What kills this next generation is the fight we're going to have over the value and resale of games. Granted it'll be a short one once someone takes this to court, it's still enough to kill it for me. The argument goes as such, the code is owned by the developers and that's what it needs to be for online play. But the disc, and as such the right to play a single-player game, is mine. I paid the company for the disc making it my property. I can play it as I will or sell it as I will. I cannot copy the code and then sell it because I do not own the code so it selling the disk I am also selling my right to play. If I want to play it again after selling I have to buy it again, and so on and so forth.

I do agree to buying a license to play the online component to a game because that involves the upkeep of servers I do not own. I have no problems for this, and I think it is a well thought out compromise. But to take out the resale market completely means I cannot afford a $60 game I will beat and then never play again (looking at you Dark Cloud, Xenosaga, and Final Fantasy). Much less now it's $100.....

So I'm out. Maybe if Sony comes out with something absolutely show stopping like real 3D, not this parlor trick 3D we have now, but real turn to your left and shoot something then return to the screen 3D I will stay loyal.

honestly everyone is getting their panties in a bunch about stuff lmao. its actually kind of funny.... you want to jump on the whole anti microsoft bandwagon kewl do some major thinking tho.... microsoft is leaving it up to the companies to charge a licensing fee and all this other stuff.... good idea bash microsoft... oh wait these same companies are making a lot of the games for ps4.... yup i dont see any sort of same or worse deal happening on that end for Sony.

does this ish suck yup and as far as the 24 hour check in period that sucks. again checking for updates on games, and system updates. im betting sony will do the same thing to cut down on having system updates that take up time when you just want to play. how many times has that happened to you ps4 fan boys. i know it happens on the 360 just not as frequently as the ps3.

im not bashing either side here. cuz both are going to have huge flaws in peoples eyes.

I will laugh at them when they can't play a single player game because they had to shut off their internet to feed their family and now have a $600 dvd player with a collection of game disc coasters

If someone can't aford to feed their family, the shouldn't be playing a video game.

The price tag came from a few companies putting up the price as $100, it is basically just a top end guess at the price. It isn't an actual confirmed price for games.
