@Quickhatch. Actually for number two, I'm referring to rare properties I have never seen on a lower ego shields and weapons before. It could be that they are super rare and I just didn't get them earlier, but I do think ego level unlocks some of them. A couple of examples off my head:

Shield: 15% Genade recharge on shield break
Shield: +5% critical damage on shield break
Weapon: -50% health charges for 5 second after kill (ie healing takes less charges)
Weapon: 45% run speed for 3 seconds after kill
Weapon: 8% more damage (for x seconds? Can't see the full text) after kill
Weapon: 10% HP recover on reload (don't need to be full reload!)

@Dracoutius. Sorry about hijacking your thread all over the place. I have a valid question for you.

Do you save pursuits? We know 5000 is the cap. Do you expect DLCs to raise that cap and hold off completing certain pursuits once you hit exactly 5000? For all we know once the level cap is raised, you could automatically become 5030 or whatever the excess is. But it could also simply eat up the excess and while you can still hit the new cap with new pursuits, you have to take longer and may be forced to do the more annoying pursuits.

Didn't read whole thread so I apologize if this was asked. I thought in order to reach EGO 5k you have to do all pursuits/car/weapon leveling no?

Since EGO goes really nothing for us it makes no sense rush to the max. The game has gotten very stale and repetitive with no real re-playability. There are so many bugs and instabilities in this game I don't see it lasting.

Oh you troll. Enjoying your Officer rank now? And we can easily run another clan event to make this a thing for all clan members. We did so a very long time ago when the clan only had about 50 members or so. Should be no problem to do it now.

    2. I am only 3400 and I got a Rhino IV with 2020 capacity. Yes, I am aware that at a higher level there will most likely be resistance/bonus upgrades on shields of this level (mine is just the basic).

    3. I only mod the very good weapons, particularly the ones I use in PVP, and ark salvage is not so hard to get. I also don't buy many weapon lockboxes because usually garbage comes out. If I was going to get boxes, I would get tier 3 since the chances of a legendary are only slightly less. Per keycode, the output is better. The drop rate of the legendaries is way too low either way considering that there are so many different types of weapons. There's a much better chance of getting an epic that suits your needs.

In summation, you have a valid point. I am not questioning the perks of level 5000, but simply stating that if it requires spending frustrating hours completing pursuits that I don't care about (in particular, the racing challenges), then I'll be okay with hanging at level 4000. Or as high as I can get without completing certain pursuits.
You'll still make it to 5000. There are enough pursuits that you wont even notice that you're completing that will get you there. It's not a big deal unless you're a completionist as I am. I still log on that toon for the dailies so I can get enough rep for the titles to buy from the faction vendors. I still need the Van Boch one and Echelon vendor titles. So I run the dailies on that toon and then low and behold, I am already working on my other toon (actually my main funny enough).

I have completed every single pursuit as well as got all weapon skills to 20. Technically if 5k wasn't the cap'd out EGO, I'd be sitting at around 5070-5090 most likely. I'd assume that if they ever did raise the cap on EGO, that I would get it automatically. If this isn't the case, I'll open up a live chat with customer service and have it done for me. They've been so helpful with all my previous grievances that I am sure they will be more than happy and capable to "make it so" (boom star trek).

Another quick tip for players who like to run major arkfalls and might not be getting full rewards when it's completed. The fastest way to get full reward is to use BMGs for healing other players or revive an ally. This is perfect for those situations where you see 3 or 4 major arkfalls on the map and you're worried you wont make it to them all in time and if you do, you don't get full rewards. Simply port to ones that are either the close to be finished or ones that go by quickly (i.e. scrapper and ones with immature hellion or matron). Go to them, heal someone else real quick or revive an ally that is down, then go to the next major arkfall.

Quick note that the arkfalls do NOT have to be in the final phase for this to work. One could literally just started and you healed someone or revived and then you moved onto the next one. Your rewards so far unless changed in upcoming patches will not get reduced like they would if you were to use normal means of completing the arkfall (i.e. destroying crystals and/or waves of enemies).

Another quick note, if you leave your world phase to port to a friend that happens to be in a different world phase, you lose all reward from that current world phase. To check if your friend, group leader or clan mate is in a different world phase, open up your social menu page and check your friends list. If they have an icon that is green and with a checkmark through it, they are in your current world phase. If the icon is red and has a X through it, this player is currently in a different world phase. This comes in handy when you're grind arkfalls for experience and keycodes. Simply clear your world map and then check your friends list and port to a friend then hunt more arkfalls.

Hope this helps out. I have more hints and tips if needed. Just ask away.

Al, you know I love you man but ya gotta learn to spell sometime. :P

For those who have looked at their profile on Defiance.com and seen what their EGO shows, mine is currently 5081 so if they ever do raise it, yes it will already be at that EGO by default. Being 5k EGO doesn't mean someone has no life. I mean the game has been out now for 3-4 months. I know a few people who were stuck just a few hundred shy of 5k EGO within the first few weeks. Those are the people who have no lives. Reaching 5k in 3-4 months just means I've had a little more time to play this game than others. And on top of that, most still don't play with goals in mind like completing pursuits and challenges. They simply log on for a few hours and do their thing then log off and play something else or watch tv etc.

As far as BMG leveling goes, I believe the secondary links do not add to your exp.

The test is simple. I have tried to level up both via SQ hulker and Big Stone Reach.

In all theory, hitting x10 skitterlings should level me a lot faster than a hulker which is x3 (when hitting the face).

    That is NOT the case.

Therefore stingrays are terrible at this despite how fun they are in sieges. Tele-spanner and plain old VOT spanner with -0.06 damage charge is probably best for the job.
