Invisible NPC zerg is just no fun at all

Ok, I know this is beta and there is a lot that may get changed.

Firstly, Its a nice looking game. It plays well and there seems to be a huge area to play across.

My problem is the missions set up can be ridiculous. You accept a mission, go to the marker and out of nowhere spring up 20 NPC all gunning for you and then you die. One particular mission had 6 bug archers spawn at once. If you don't know these guys they usually fire a hamstring type affect and then nuke you; This is OK if there is one or two but when there are six its instant death and no amount of barrel rolls will save you.

Next up is the AI. The guys with shields and shotguns are stupid. I know you are meant to headshot them or shoot them from behind. Trouble is that they always know where you are so always face you shield first. Even if you have just run miles behind buildings and cover they still have you zero'ed.

I think a beta weekend is all I needed to see what the game is about. You drive from one mission to the next killing stuff, nothing new there. No crafting. Pitiful loot drops. Ranking up really doesn't seem worth the effort.

Ive played it 24 hours and I'm bored already which is a real pity because I like what Trion do usually.

(note I haven't complained about bugs, of which there are many, because I know its a beta but release is only a month away and its simply not enough time imo to put stuff right)

At the beginning of Rift, Trion sold a pretty basic game, unstable, lot of bug etc.. But their success is due to a very good following with quick and big patchs which add and correct a lot of things.

except rift is P2P whereas defiance in f2p in my experience F2P games arent half as well taken care of (for the obvious reason) as P2P games

Not free 2 play. You buy the game and probably half of additionnal content. Players will never buy additionnal content if the basic of the game is not finished.
Also, Trion have to prove himself at each dlc you need to pay because players can do without.

You people missed the fact it was stated 100 times. "this beta we are letting you guys test is months old from the current build." You also missed where loot drops had been turned off for ark falls and curved in other places. As well you must have missed this wasnt even 1/10 of what will be released in a week. ....But hey if you still wish to rant about info you would find with a few mins of reading go ahead.

:P I hate to correct you, and I know you hate hearing it too, but it'll be 7 days 23hrs and 50 minutes (for me) until the midnight release(if there is one.) I would rant, but the game is pretty solid with me.

And here I was thinking this was going to be about invisible npcs zerging you and continuing to do so after you extract to a safe location and kill you time and time again so that you have to re-log to stop it, not that it bothers me that much since it's only a beta but hey, there you go.

I was obviously mistaken, since this is yet another thread complaining about stuff which is probably going to be sorted for retail...

You may be experiencing some lag but most likely its because hellbugs come from the ground.

Your meant to outwit them, toss them a grenade and when they are knocked back finish them off with your gun.

It is a shooter hence the shooting. You have the Salvage Matrix to make new weapons. Loot is based on how you fight, your EGO Rating etc, so pitiful look is because of you. I came across really cool weapons and tech all the time.
