    Defiance and TV progression

I really feel like the show is bringing this game down, games require more frequent( and more) content and because of these two being tied together its making this game plummet into a repetitive grind-fest. Literally the only thing you can do is run around collecting tokens to buy lockboxes that never give anything of value. Sure you can get them in different ways, but running the same 6 instances and 4 pvp maps gets pretty old. We need like 4x more types of Arkfalls and Sieges, and a freaking DLC.

The show is OK at best, and really ive found very little actually connecting the game to the show anyways other than it being in the same world/setting. Not saying there isnt anything but really I dont think its adding any value to the game with the couple models resembling people from the show having you do the same things you would do anyways in the game.

There is little to no feedback from the devs other than the community managers livestream witch is very little in the info dept., havn't even announced a DLC yet and people are already dissapointed becaused they thought it was coming out.

Im sure there is legal contracts that force you to take this game at a handicapped snails pace to keep in line with the show, but I fear the wait is going to cost you a lot of development money when 4/5 DLCs dont even sell because you took so long to add anything to the game.

PS: I realise the whole Rift/Arkfall mechanic is your guy's baby and all, but if you're going to make it the centerpiece of the game, it needs to be alot more varied. You can't expect people to kill the 3 types of enemies in this game (many are just reskins of the same model or look dangerously close to one another) and have them stick around for 3 months without any word of DLC.

PSS: Thanks Trion, I know all about competetive maps and random features you post up on your news feed, I mean there aren't many to keep track of, would be nice to hear some news about something people actually care about. (D L motha****ing C?!)

OR at the very least stop calling this an MMO, because its anything but massive.

    "games require more frequent content".

what are you smoking? most games go 6+months between content patches, years between expansions.... we haven't gotten any -huge- content patch, true, but they have been adding content more frequently than any other game out there.

i will agree that it launched with a remarkably small amount of content on its own, though. but that doesn't affect the frequency of content patches.

Honey Oil, but yes game do generally go a while without adding content, but those game often come with 5x the content of this game. And because they try to update it WITH a TV show which barely make any real-time progress they need to update it frequently, people dont pay to play a game for 45 minutes every Monday like they watch a TV show, they grind MMOs out on like 10 hour shifts.

And by content I'm assuming you mean the bug fixes? Theres only been one patch since I started play (not launch) and all it did was rebalance things and add Sieges really, and all that is is a different color arkfall without a big boss and you can only do it once an hour if you're lucky enough to not be in a instance.

Compared to what? All those instanced MMOs where you only see more than few players is when you are doing a 5-man dungeon or in the main city?

its really shame that they did not follow the tv show plot
then it would be a very good game as you can watch the show and play the game online with the same storyline

it does not follow any of the show

I too wish it was really set IN Defiance (STL) - it's disconnect in SF makes it feel less like the show.

It would have been better served in Vegas since that is mentioned time and time again on the show with SF a little more than a "only if you play the game you will get" bit of dialogue.

The game wouldn't work in STL-Defiance because there simply isn't enough going on to make a game's worth of content while not overtaxing the boundaries of the show. Besides, can you imagine the quests?

-Christie and Alak are getting married in 2 days and some raiders stole their floral arrangements! Get 'em back!
-Irisa's been busy throwing knives at people, but she is running out of knives! Get 'em back!
-Rynn's hellbugs ate my roller keys! Search their shtako piles until you find the keys! (See who gets where this quest is from)
-Nolan wants you to go rough up the spirit riders and find out what happened to Varus' crystal.
-Discover the true nature of the six-legged-monkey-crawl and the irathient swirl.
-Both Tommy and Sukar have requested a shield because they keep getting injured on a daily basis! Choose your request reward: +100 rep with Spirit Riders or +100 with Lawkeepers.
-Is Rafe McCawley gonna have to choke a *****? Protect women from the Strangler of St Louis!
