Because I paid money for an incomplete product, if you are not complaining or at least not a bit upset then most likely you are 15 years old and parents bought the game for you since you couldn't care about being cheated from money you work for.

I complain for 3 reasons:
1. I am waiting on some games to come out, so continue to play and be disappointed with Defiance as I wait.
2. Trion is a case study in utter failure. The incompetent decisions, shoddy coding, slow delivery times of fixes, and acceptance that this is the 'norm' can be infuriating, so I like to vent.
3. I bought the digital deluxe and seasons pass thinking that the team doing Defiance would at least be as competent as the team doing Rifts, so I have a chunk of change in the game...and to be honest, I do not feel that I have even gotten my moneys worth on limited content current available.
My question to you: Why is obvious troll obvious?
I complain because I like the game, just not the things I complain about.

I did not have any experience with Trion prior to Defiance, but I know many who played Rifts from the beginning and still do. Their reviews of Trion varied from good to great, so I assumed (yeah, should not have done that) that the same level of quality and support would exist in Defiance.
So yes, my opinion that Trion's Defiance crew is awful came after my purchase of everything. Even in the beginning, I was willing to cut them so slack as the initial 'live' push of many software programs have unforeseen issues. However, Trion Defiance has made about every bad decision that previous companies have made. It is like that want to destroy the game and create a negative view of the company.
Like many players, I've been playing MMO's for over a decade. I think what you're witnessing, MykeMirage, is a change in consumer mindset. My response goes way beyond just Trion, it's addressed at the industry. It used to be that a player wasn't who payed for a game - the parents did and the parents only goal was to keep little Johny and Mary out of their hair so they could make woopie, that's what they were really paying for. But now it's the player who goes to work and pays that earned money. That change in consumerism is an evolved trait that the industry has not responded to in acceptable ways, it's as if they still feel that they are somehow entitled to produce substandard product that will be tolerated without consequences just because that's the way it's always been for the goose that lays the golden eggs. But it's no longer true, and it's certainly not true and never has been for any other industry to produce faulty product. The software that controls everything else in our lives is expected to work - and it just does, no matter its development cost, or there is terrible backlash.
It isn't a question of why can't people play something else if a MMO software isn't working right, it's become a question of why the MMO software doesn't work right after having over a decade experience in learning how to make it work. People who paid attention, I think, will agree that intolerance is steadily increasing every year, and in result the market has changed and people are becoming less trusting and more demanding of proof that their money is spent wisely.
It's not about being able to play other games. It's about being able to use what was paid for and not given. That is why people are forcing the market to F2P, they have lost trust and patience, and rightfully so, with the entire game industry.
But to answer your question more personally, yes I do play other games. In fact I just joined an open beta and the MMO features lots of dragons. Thing works pretty good too, and it's F2P so I can be sure it works as expected before I give them my money. The market has evolved, as has my willingness to pay. But I should be playing what I have already paid for and in the way it was advertised for me to expect, shouldn't I?
My forum handle "Skeety" was selected to associate with an internationally respected sport. Flying Arkfall bugs are even more fun!
couldn't agree more. Defiance is my first MMO, that being said i would expect there would be a few problems. I play on a PS3 and every-once-in-a-while the game will slow way down for 20 seconds or so but that is my biggest complaint so far.
This is also the first time that i've responded to a post on any forum before.
feel free to add me RYAN94
see ya in the game, Later!
No
I tend to keep to one game at a time depending of its nature. Sure I switch between racing, shooters and mmo. But, when I do play it at first I don't want to break the feeling/momentum. I don't want to HAVE to switch games just to await an upcoming patch to be able to complete the one I'm playing. And I would not play through the storyline like Halo4 and Fallout 3 at the same time for example.
There are other threads discussing Bethesda for example. The same thing happened to Skyrim. There were bugs that right off made the game impossible to complete if not re-playing the whole thing all over. I was "whining and reporting bugs" on their forums as well. I can tolerate things like npc and objects floating around, but to have major storyline events unplayable is not OK. This at least should be tested enough prior to release...
And what answer is that? Go pop another game in if you can’t handle the bugs? I paid for something that should work for the better part in the first place…
Note: I do have to say that the last patch made all the difference. The game is playable and I do enjoy coming back nowadays…
