Character Customization, how was it?

So how did you all feel about the customization? Did you play with it? Did you notice all the pages you could go threw?

Some people missed the second page options on the top of the page to change hair, tattoos and others.
How was the race selection?
Would you like sliders?
Would you like to set yourself apart more?
Did you check the pursuits page to see all the unlockable outfits?
Would you like to custom build your outfits from unlocked parts?

I was fairly happy with the customization. Of course, I would like to see more hairstyles, and colors.. Make it funky, blonde, brunette and redhead is so boring and this is the future.. Lets see some streaks of color, pink blue or green. :-) The faces were a tad boring and I found it difficult to make anyone attractive. I tried all subsets of male/female.

It would be nice to clarify what the archetype does, because all I could tell was 3 choices of ugly to ugliest. For an alien race this was fine, human - disappointing! lol

It was a nice feature to see the unlockable outfits, most definitely. I'd love to see more tattoos and things to further make your character unique.

I believe what I am asking is what would would like more of, and a simple yes or no if they managed to find everything. Can't edit posts, and beta forums are not up and running.

For a stress test, not bad, some people complained they couldnt figure out the "how" because the tabs are up at the top of the screen, it doesnt directly cycle you choice to choice like other games.

I want the bald head option; because I shave my head and 2, chicks dig it.

Just honesty - a lot of the layout felt very 'console friendly', and thus a little clunky on PC which I find usually has much more streamlined and easy to use character creation in games.

As far as CC options go, for an early stress test - not bad at all!

If the game had launched with those options though I would honestly be disappointed. I generally like to make 'myself' in MMO's and there was no way that was happening in this CC.

I hope TRION takes a look at great CC in other MMO's like any of the games by Cryptic for example which really allow for decent customization but I feel like it may honestly not be that important to Trion. Especially if the game doesn't intend to be much more than a third person mmo shooter.

Best CC I've ever played around with too bad the developers really dropped the ball on the rest of the game and wasted a LOT of money along the way, losing their game to another company.

In all honesty, I felt the character customization was mediocre at best. I had the same issues with the layout as others in regards to the tabbed sections -- since they don't auto-cycle you to the next feature, you get a little confused. But my main problem is the lack of customization options altogether.

Again we are left to deal with the standardized limited selection of presets that offer no real individuality when creating your character. It's 2013 and technology has given us the ability to create more unique avatars, yet Trion gives us a stale and generic customization feature that offers nothing of significance. In all honesty, there is no reason why we aren't given a range of sliders to create our characters with more substance. If SWG could do it years ago and APB can do it now, why can't Trion? Granted, it does make it easier for Trion to design textures and models against a finite set of customization features, but frankly I find that excuse overused in the industry today.

In simple terms, the feature is average. It is neither good nor bad, but is definitely unremarkable and not worth even promoting.

Well the other company woulda made the game much better by now if they wouldnt have gone greedy. :]
