This past weekend, how Defiance could be...

Granted...I did play this weekend...mainly cuz I couldn't resist that XP event (which surprisingly did work)...and I was able to finally get the Hellion kill shot since there were only 7 of us at the arkfall. However...I sorely missed playing with my Browncoats clan mates. When you're a 2000+ clan, on top of all the other players....this weekend definitely felt like a ghost town. Part of me does agree with Mowazzy's comments about being more challenging and no lag, etc....but...for me, a big part is the other players...so this weekend was definitely bittersweet.

Guys, this weekend there was a bug that caused massive amounts of people to not be able to send group invites, connect to friends in other servers, travel to friends in other worlds, queue up co-op or PVP, and last but not least, see your friends or clan list.

This weekend the game was broken, and you were one of the few who were unaffected.

If you think this game can go from a little shy of a million players online at 1 time then randomly drop to less then 40k in less then 2 days, think again.

Yeah, I had this problem. I was able to send and receive group invites, but unable to port to any group/clan/friends. Took me an hour to get into the same phase as my friend.

I had no issues on Sat morning/afternoon finding populated arkfalls, but Sat night and Sunday morning they were pretty barren. I solo'd about 5 small events in major arkfalls, but without other ppl I never made it to the end fights.

If you think this game can go from a little shy of a million players online at 1 time then randomly drop to less then 40k in less then 2 days, think again.

This game has never even approached a quarter of that number of players online simultaneously.

It was slow on xbox 360 also. I really enjoyed it although I did still get disconnects and time outs when things got laggy (seiges and a major arkfall). But the overall number of connection problems were down, so it's a plus. About 200 EGO away from hitting my 2500 and getting the last 2 achievements in the game. Then I'll be taking a break until the DLC is released.

The only thing I really did like about this was when I went into a town people were not spitting out emotes over and over. That part was nice but not able to trade sucked.

Only good thing about this weekend apart from the XP boost was with so few people on, I was easily able to get gold in all the time trials (finally!) without the servers trolling me by adding about 3 seconds onto my time

I loved this weekend in Defiance. Didn't have any of my clan bonuses all weekend but being able to run arkfalls with a small group was great. Tons of kills at arkfalls and the bosses didn't take forever to kill since the player counts were down. On top of all that, it was 25% xp boost weekend. Making every major AF worth 6250 instead of 5K. Somebody already said this, but the random roadside events had great payouts too with the 25% boost. getting close to Ego 2000 so every extra Xp I can get helps. I can only imagine how EGO 3000+ players must have loved the grind this weekend.

Such a great weekend. Missed playing with my clan members though.

** one more thing ** It was nice to not be solicited as much about "got any orange weapons" or "you looking for any orange weapons?" at every arkfall

Seemed like a good chunk of people decided to play other stuff this past weekend, so it gave us die-yards a chance to play with low population and solid server connectivity.

Sure.... fought a bunch of minor ark falls solo and duo'd / trio's some majors, but didn't lose connection once. Also, finally got to play sieges w/o worrying about lagging out. But the low man experience was challenging and enjoyable, loved it to be honest. You actually had to worry about dying for a change b/c you only had 1-3 people around. Also picked up 20 revives at major AFs, only 22 to go!

It was lonely at times without somebody driving circles around AFs, someone AOE'ing skits, and sellers being absent, but I managed (sarcasm).

If this is a sign of things to come it makes me happy and sad. Happy b/c the game was smooth and reliable for an extended period of time which is great for those of us that love the grind. Sad b/c the population I saw this weekend likely means the game is dying quickly (from 100+ to 4-5 at major ark falls). Would be great somewhere in between in my opinion.

Wondering if anyone else has the same experience.

Unfortunately the sieges are not enough to keep me interested, I have played through missions twice and finished all the side missions, what to do now? 2I don't know"

Cant sell the game as I have the season pass.

Just have to be patient and hope the new stuff comes after or around then next episode.

For your information the game was broken this weekend so there were an awful lot of true players and supporters of this game who just couldn't play no matter what they tried.

There hasn't been a mass exodus, just some mass game issues which still need addressing server side.

But hey, you were okay so who gives a crap about anyone else...That sound about right, does it???

Hey, maybe Trion could create a server just for you if you feel it's too busy so you could play lag/crash free all the time!!!

Nice way to show consideration for people who have supported this game from the start and are still supporting it through all the problems even though they can't play at the moment.

Glad you are happy for me. I gained 215 ego points while you were staring at the wall wishing you could play a video game... bet you broke something too just cause you were sooooo mad. Ya ya die hards not die yards, spell check fails me. You sir are the reason I had such a great time this past weekend. There was a lot less of people like you around. I hope you can never login again to be honest. Not sure why I should care about someone that takes a positive post like mine and tries to spin it in a negative way. Guess its the Englishman's nature. Now go punch a puppy and find a tall building to climb loser.
