Can't play the game??

I pre-ordered the game yesterday and signed up for the beta, and got accepted in this morning. I logged in the launcher, downloaded the game files and patched it, and got in the game, however as soon as i get in the game it says in a window with the word CRITICAL on top: The Defiance service is not available. Please try again later. And at the bottom there are two options, try again and quit game. I keep clicking try again, I even restarted my PC but I cannot get past that. Are the servers down? Did anyone figure out how to get past the screen?

They closed beta early I am assuming. For PC players this is the current issue.

My best guess is that the server is full, maybe? Because I heard from people that were on this morning but couldn't get on after lunch

After spending two days downloading the game with their broken patcher at 100kb/s I get the same message and still cannot play
