    Weapon Balance

    It needs fixing drastically. Some weapons are flat out useless, others are just superior in every single way.

    Pistols
    The only remotely useful pistol type is Magnums. Every other type has low damage/ammo so you'll quickly have to switch weapons.
    Rating: Useless, Magnum is slightly less useless
    How to fix: Needs more ammo, slightly more damage would help.

    SMGS
    They fire fast. This is the only good thing about them. They don't possess the damage or ammo to be useful. The damage drop off on them is about 2ft as well, so you need to be in melee range to maximize damage with them.
    Rating: Useless in 9/10 situations.
    How to fix: They simply need more ammo. A lot more, these things can empty your entire ammo supply in 10 seconds flat.

    Assault Rifles
    They are SMGs with slightly more range and damage. They are superior in pretty much every way.
    Rating: Bad, but better than a SMG.
    How to fix: Slightly more damage, slightly more range, slightly slower rate of fire. Differentiate them from SMGs more.

    LMGs
    Best weapon type in the game. They have the range and accuracy of a sniper rifle, almost as much damage per shot, the fire rate of an assault rifle, almost no recoil, have so much ammo you need to reload once every few minutes. Only downside is they take a long time to reload, if you even need to reload.
    Rating: Best weapon in the game
    How to fix: They need shorter range, slightly lower damage and some recoil on them. These things are currently fully automatic sniper rifles.

    Shotguns
    They have insane damage. But the range on them is so short if you cannot melee someone, you are too far away from them. In certain situations this makes them useless since you cannot get that close.
    There are also 3 types of shotgun, the difference between them is not pronounced enough to be noticeable.
    Rating: Situational but potentially useful. Avoid shotguns that fire slugs, these ones are useless.
    How to fix: Give them range longer than melee. Additionally, accurately indicate how much damage they can deal. Just saying 100 is useless if we don't know how much shot they fire.

    Sniper Rifles
    Some of them have good damage (but it does not feel good enough), but they don't have as much range as they should have. LMGs and even Assault Rifles have just as much range as these do.
    Rating: Potentially useful if you can headshot with them all the time, avoid semi-automatic sniper rifles, they are useless.
    How to fix: They need longer range, significantly longer range. Semi-auto sniper rifles need more damage.

    BMGs
    The only weapon in the game that can heal. This on it's own makes them amazing. Damage wise they're pretty much useless, but you're not taking them for the damage.
    Rating: One of the best weapons in the game purely for what they do that nothing else can.
    How to fix: No need to, they are great.

    Infectors
    Damage wise they're nothing amazing. But they fire fast, and home in on things. And then when something dies due to this weapon, lots of critters come out for more damage or a distraction.
    Rating: Underestimated but potentially amazing.
    How to fix: No need to, they are great.

    Rocket Launcher
    I thought these things were a joke when I finally got one. It does less damage than a pistol, but comes with about 10 ammo.
    Rating: Worst weapon in the game, avoid at all costs.
    How to fix: They need significantly more damage. Slap an extra 0 on the end of any damage they deal, that might make them useful.

    Grenade Launchers
    These are much superior to rocket launchers. More damage, more ammo, fire faster, can fire around corners.
    Rating: Excellent, one of the best weapon types in the game.
    How to fix: Fix rocket launchers.

    I don't think expecting all pistols to have more damage is a good balance. Not everything is about damage. Perhaps a higher crit rate for pistols would make them better, but...

    And your review of the Rocket Launcher is a little unfounded, I have a MIRV style one that does great.

    and ARs and SMGs are both great, I don't get your problem with them. I dropped LMGs because I found ARs had less bloom. SMGs are great counters to rushers if you, like me, happen to blunder a lot with shotguns.

    Crit rate is just more damage. It's a different way of calculating it, but it's just bonus damage at the end of the day. Pistols (excluding magnums) just need something a little bit more.

    The only rocket launchers I, or my friends have had did around 1000 damage per shot. This is useless for something that comes with about 10 ammo max.

    SMGs are bad compared to assault rifles, and assault rifles are bad compared to LMGs. You can take a LMG, stick a scope on it, point at someones head and just fire. You will headshot every single time because they have no recoil. They have more damage, range, accuracy and less recoil but a slightly lower rate of fire. SMGs and assault rifles are not totally bad, just inferior to LMGs. But SMGs need more ammo or more damage or both, a weapon that can empty your entire ammo supply in 10 seconds and get 5 kills is not good when another can get 5 kills per reload.

    I agree that SMG's are just bullet hoses that serve to empty your ammo stores in an insanely fast manner. So much so that they are generally useless unless you're fighting right next to an ammo box.

    Rest of the weapons Ive found use for in different situations. While some are better than others I dont feel that any of them, aside from SMG's need major tweaking right now. I tend towards AR's and nade launchers - but at range rocket launchers and occasionally a sniper rifle come out. However, after finding a shotgun that functions like a weaker grenade launcher - well, thats my new toy - Im specced with alot of explosive kill stuff so yeah

    To reply to your statements.

    Pistols having more damage would break the balance not fix it like you are asking them to do. Pistols are meant to be the secondary weapon that you use when primary runs out of ammo or has a slow reloading time.

    Have you ever fired a real SMG. They fire fast if you fire as a hold down the trigger finger style. That is not the way to use a SMG. SMG's are meant to fire as a burst fire. With the option of holding down the trigger in specific situations.

    Same with Assault rifles as SMG's, only the main difference is these are better at holding sown the trigger firing.

    Shotguns I can agree minus the fact that the range is okay. Just add some more damage.

    Snipers are fine. The Semi autos in any game have less damage. They are meant to. So they can offset the fact you don't have to zoom out to fire again.

    I will agree on the rocket launchers. Maybe not add a 0. If they do make the mag size smaller.

    those chanegs would in turn create new useless weapons - for ex if smg/asault were somewhat better, like you suggested - i wouldnt even bother with LMG, even if they wouldnt get nerfed.

    Rocket boost is situational - some got large aoe splitting ammo or homing - but geterally they are useless.
    So are some granade launchers - that are quite inferior.

    Shotguns are good but need internal balancing - sawed off got damage but they are way too slow to be useful - same goes for any slugs and shotguns that need to be loaded 1 by 1 and has low clip.

    Grenades - idk abotu pvp but in pve only the frag grenade is slighly useful - tho the damage range should be wiped ( eg 300-3000 is bad).
    flash grenades have proven to be kind of useless, incendiary has too low dps or smthing... not worth it this far.. .and bio slow amount is too little.

    Also i noticed that teh "sets gorund on fire" never works for weapons Oo

    Rocket Launcher damage is intentionally lower against infantry. This was a fix to prevent bunny hopping RL users (that ended up killing themselves all the time). RLs do a LOT more damage against vehicles however.

    Who says pistols need to be a secondary weapon? In a game where you can use any combination of weapon?

    As for SMGs. Someone has never fired one I take it?
    MP5 fires 800 RPM.
    PP-19 fires around 650 RPM.
    Uzi can fire 600 RPM.

    In comparison to assault rifles.
    A M16 fires 950 RPM.
    M4 Carbine fires 950 RPM.
    SA80 fires 800 RPM.

    If you're talking realism, LMGs fire faster than assault rifles, which fire faster than SMGs.

    As someone who has only just completed the madera area, when do you ever fight a vehicle? I have not seen an enemy destructible vehicle in game yet. Even if they do come up, rocket launchers have had no purpose for a while.

    Vehicular combat is very common in PvP. You can start using vehicles with mounted guns as soon as you're done with the tutorial in the game.
