I'm debating it, and would love someone to help me secure the pre-order! I'm sure it'll get all the pre-order rewards on Steam by the way.
I played on my own but have a friend or two that are going to get it, but it just seems like Borderlands too much? It might be because they're similar which is fine, but it just seems like a copy and paste with a few additions to Borderlands? Is the game long and is there free roam?
Just incase, I'm not putting the game down I'm just debating xD
I'd like to, but it strikes me as really just a console shooter with a few MMO elements kinda awkwardly shoehorned in; fine if you're into that sort of game, but I was hoping for a bit more of a hybrid, personally.
I doubt I will play this game after launch if it stays as it is in its current state.
Given the fact the game is a persistent world with massive amounts of players online simultaneously; without support for social aspects, any kind of economy, or crafting, the game will get boring quick.
I got the Digital Deluxe and is a welcome change from playing golf. HAHAHA
It's a complete toss up right now 3 friends have tried it so far none of us are sure there is enough depth in the game to warrant the purchase. Things in no specific order that are either missing or need work or we honestly don't know if they exist in some form.
1. Community with the way the current chat system works is almost non existent a major improvement here is needed see your other games like Rift make that happen for the sake of your games long term success.
2. Content while the story quest and side missions are alot of fun coupled with random challenges. What else is there to do besides the pvp, ark falls, and co-op missions. Honestly it wasn't until last night while running through a bunch of random menus that we even found out about Co-op missions being available. The game doesn't do enough to let you know about the content that could be available.
3. Speaking to content what is the end game supposed to be more nomadic roaming from mission point to mission point with the occasional ark fall? What is the greater purpouse besides for the sake of fun. Is there major raid type content planned that would also fall into the community section reguarding the chat issues.
4. The ability to hop between instances/channels whatever there called in this game seems to be absent. Sure you can join a friend in there's, but none of us have found a way to hop from an instance thats way over populated to ones that aren't.
Anyways if you read this far without going crazy, I personaly really love the game design, story, and graphics. Without knowing if some of the above are being looked into especialy the chat issues its hard to justify a purchase. Especialy after playing DnD Neverwinter and there being a full on involved community there it makes it hard to want to enter into a new game that already has the appearance of being dead.
I was really looking forward to this game, but the beta sadly showed how not ready this game is for release in 1 week
So no, I'm not going to pay full price for this game. It's lacking tremendously, it's fun for a few minutes at a time only. Such a shame.
I really hope it gets better in a few patches! Probably will be buying it later.
Plus, I don't like supporting games that's a total console port.. There is squat done for PC players.
Absolutely. I preordered with Steam before I tried the beta. I love the idea of the game and TV show tie in. Even though creating a show and game "with the staying power of Battlestar Galactica" is a tall order. I just hope they fix the chat, because the social aspect was nonexistant.
I'm still blown away this is even a concern. They had to know MMO players, and science fiction geeks in general, love to talk. Heres to hoping.
