Mark my words, their will be more security problems with the ps4 than with xbone.

i can totally see how you can be so angry, but with my lifestyle these cons arent really a big deal for me.

i mostly buy games when they come out new, and ill still be able to by cheaper second hand games, ill just have to pay a fee to *own* it. and unless that fee + the cost of the second hand game comes close to its orignal retail value it wont bother me.
No used games also means you won't be able to rent games for the new system to try before you buy. And at the expected $100 for a new game, I'm not too thrilled about that.

What happens to playability if the mandatory 24 hour checkup window is missed?
Mandatory kinect? Does that mean we MUST use (and listen to) its mic? That alone will be enough for me to never buy the thing. Open kinect mics just make me want to hurt people...lots of people.
It appears xbone is trying to compete with PCs in the aspect of digital property/downloads. If that's the case, however, I can sure as hell make a better performing PC compared to xbone.

Again I keep getting hung up on the "no Internet, no play" aspect. More than 90% of my game library is single player. Why is Internet connection being made a mandatory requirement?

The more I read about the xbone the more I don't like the advertised product. Last time I checked I bought every console I've owned because it was a GAMING console. The xbone is being primarily advertised as a media center.

I'm genuinely horrified with the direction MS is going with their next gen console. Xbox360 was/is a gaming console. Now MS is straying from that path and trying less to make a gaming console and more a "it does everything but wipe your ***" console.
its funny , as bad as PCs are in this regard , none of them will lock your games for missing a 24 hour window check in , atleast nothing i have on steam does this. Playstation doesnt do it (and isnt going to it seems) , Wii U doesnt (as far as i know , even if its Wii U) , so why do they think its a good thing? dont even get me started on their opinion on ownership is morphing , cause thats just only happeningi n their own deluded minds.

I really don't understand the issue with these new consoles being online. My current Xbox is online from the time I turn it on until I turn it off. If I wanted to play a system that doesn't use internet connectivity I'd play one of my older systems.

Every game shown by ubisoft this year, with the exception of Rayman, and assasspirate creed 5.2 boasted an open, shared world. The other highly anticipated E3 announcement, Destiny, is also a shared world game.
The days of offline single player are coming to an end. That doesn't mean you can't play games alone, all of us are on a forum for the most solo MMO ever made, but developers are making games that integrate campaign stories with seamless co-op, or even competitive multiplayer.

A 24 hour check up won't matter when most of the games coming in the next generation are going to require an internet connection anyway.

Sony have already admitted that the no DRM on ps4 was a pr stunt. Just like the xbone, drm will be left up to the publishers. The only difference is that sony produced games won't have DRM while microsoft ones will (google it) For me it still as always come down to the games.

And i think it's UNFAIR to be slogged with charges for everything. I bet your not an Australian gamer. We get charged more a new game is $80-up. and we don't have the best net so being always online is unfair. Go suck M$ off you fanboy.

Apparently you have never heard of "SuperDae"? A hacker who has breached a large group of gaming companies including M$. What you have to understand is whether it's Sony or Microsoft nobody is safe. It is entirely up to the hacker if they intend to be malicious or not. SuperDae on the other hand approached M$ and let them know they had areas in there system that you could get through, so don't go thinking M$ is 100% safe.

You obviously dont see the whole picture of that point i made. i could tell you two great things about that point, but seeing as your such a arrogant dude it would be a waste of time telling you.

    On another note.
I used to live in central queensland (Australia) and that place was pretty rough for online stuff, that was over 13 years ago and i have no idea what its like now with broadband ect. and i can totaly see long time supporters of xbox that can have these issues being rightly pi$$ed off!!

but surely the percentage of people that dont have internet access is less than 5% or something stupidly low?
and i get the whole going to a friends, taking it with work ect ect, internet might go down stuff that will stop you from being able to play for a day or a few hours.

i think the majority of people will have no problem with this in this day and age and with the check up online services in general will be alot better than they are now.

the core values of a gaming console are to play where you want, when you want as long as you got power and a tv. I get this. now that everyone is getting into gaming, and to be a *gamer* isnt special like it used to be, the internet turning into some super monster that probably wont be able to be controlled in the near future.

i believe M$ are going the right way.

    @ demoniku22

There is no mention in that quoted post or in any of my posts on this thread that i even *assume* M$ will be 100% safe.

In that quoted post i said that there will be *more* problems with PS4 than with Xbone.

if anything my post states that there WILL be problems for xbone.......
