I just wonder what people thought about microsofts limitations on using the cloud. Anyone who doesn't have a 1.0 mb up and a 1.5 mb down connection will not be allowed to use the cloud. Microsoft is basically saying upgrade ur internet or you can't use xbox one. That is all well and good but what about those people who like me buy the best internet they can get, in my area the max I can get is 8 mb down and 0.5 mb up which I have. Because of my upload speed I will not be allowed to use an xbox one and how many more people will be affected by this !!!

don't forget the reality of it, this whole cloud thing is alot of hype.. the data a game needs to come and go, and the amount of it, all within a 1.5 minimum, which can be slowed or altered anywhere along the way. My guess is these games won't work as they claimed, if not well at all, and the majority will not use this feature as they said but have it as an option for some other stuff.. games being developed by multiplatform companies will most likely NOT use it at all, since one of the consoles requires NO internet to play a game in singleplayer. Both consoles are offering a form of cloud, but the sony one will use it for entire game installs to the system and streaming of games from it's MASSIVE previous library.

So Sony is saying if you have no internet you can't use there version of the cloud to stream there MASSIVE previous library of games or install your games to the system. Sony is also leaving the DRM up to the publishers same as MS. Both companies are going to under mind the consumers to make money. Just Sony seems to be sneakier about it, so it all comes down to which do you like better and feel more comfortable giving your money to.

er.. if you have no internet of course you can't use cloud.. any cloud..... not a selling point, not a point of argument....

you can install any disc based game designed for it to the hdd.. and you do not need internet to play ps4 games (or any games on your hdd), which should be obvious.. no you can't get internet content without internet......

as for the drm issues.. while both say certain drm options are up to publishers.. sony does not enforce the other parts m4 is shoving down our throats... in fact.. they are pretty open about it...

was there a point to make here at all?

You wont have to pay a fee for the game to reactivate it and MS wont be taking % of the re sale from the retailer it is strictly between the retailer and the producer of the game (activision) and the "producer gets to choose if they want to incorporate in to their game". The last part is something i heard through a interview don`t know if it is a 100% true.

atm, if you missed your 24 hour window it's locked, and you WILL have to pay to reactivate.. this is separate from the "trade" concept they have, which only works for a VERY specific set of persons, at the right time of day, when the moon is the right shape and the planets are aligned....

also heard people talking that it has more ram.. it does.. but it isn't what you think.. while ddr3 ram is better at burst data, the ddr5 is naturally faster, and clocked at such a speed as to exceed their ddr3's potential in terms of development. What they also have is 32mb of esram..while meant to "compliment" the slower ddr3, esram has issues, like it takes up more space, and.. is another wrench thrown at developers to try and figure out which memory to apply each task to. esram also has several other issues I won't bother getting into here, but I can say this.. the inclusion of esram to the xb1 has actually made developing more difficult, and right now xbox is having some serious issues with the yield of the system with the esram in place. (one of the contributing factors as to why there were more videos to watch than games to play at the ms booth for e3, and why the few that were up for demo were running on pc's and not consoles.

Your right I shouldn't have attacked your post. Was nothing against you and I understand your point of view, but it gets tiring to read pro Sony post for how great Sony is for the no internet and then in the same post brag about how games like CoD and Battlefield will play and evolve and how great there library is going to be, all of which need internet. I know that is not what you were getting at but I see all the time on here and other forums. IMHO both Sony and MS should learn from the other one. Both should not require internet to play a game or have check ins and both should have something like the family plan MS is trying to make where you can share games without having to share the disc.
Again sorry for attacking your post.

If you think online gaming will be worse because of this cloud stuff your in for a big surprise.

There will be pretty much no lag console side, and very little server/cloud side for online gaming.

Im still going with xbone, and getting more and more reasons to.

If you miss the 24h window your xbox will only be able to play blurays and dvds
(i still don't own a single bluray disc, hd is for gaming not movies..as far as i'm concerned),
You will be able to play your games again once you connect to the live servers no additional fees
