    Right, they got 7 people in this thread alone with the same problem, and probably 50 times as many that have the same issue but didn't post here. And we all have 'broken windows'. No way it could be 'broken game'.

    Little tip for you technical support folks, when the only thing on a client's system that causes a crash is your software, your software is causing the problem. I've got 30 other games installed that don't lock my system up.

    Glacian I know exactly what you are saying but it has been painful to get any response from their support tier. I managed to get the issue to the 2nd level of the support tier, but so far no response.

    Today, July 8th, we had an server update and it's Defiance's final episode and I haven't managed to play not more than a minute or so. I heard from a player that uses Xbox that he manages to get around the issue by cleaning his system cache. Not optimal either way.

    It's more frustrating because it is a fun game to play.

    Alright,

    Got some feedback from the 2nd Tier from Trion support. They requested a bit more info about the issue so I have sent a video. Don't think it can be more clear than that. I have also added this forum post and some other forum posts that describes the same issue. Hopefully we will have a solution soon.

    You can add me to the list of people that have this happening. Every single time I try to exit the game, it locks up, and I have to use Task Manager to end it. I even thought that maybe I was not giving it enough time to fully close itself, even though I was being very generous in the time I was allowing, so I have even let it sit there (after having clicked Exit) in the background as i did other things to see if it would ever fuly quit on its own...it never did.

    This is my hypothesis about the issue

    Whenever the server: disconnects OR lags over MAXTIME (30 secs for example) OR network drops (or a second or more), it instead of exiting gracefully showing a message and asking for reconnect, it freezes making the application not to run (fatal on windows boxes). If you are playing on fullscreen (not windowned) it does completely freezes the system in a way that you can't even use the task manager to exit.

    It might simply be coincidence but, at least with me, it always happens on "rush hour" times and lately it has been happening a lot at the moment I log into the game for the 1st time.

    I got a feedback from the 2nd Tier that improved my gameplay and, if you have the same applications running there, you might want to check.

    Ensure that Google Chrome background services isn't running (same for Firefox). Disable auto-sync applications like Google Cloud and Amazon Cloud Drive. Disable or set to game mode your Anti-virus.

    With this done at my machine I went from over 5 crashes in a couple hours to a couple of crashes only and, at times, no crashes what-so-ever.

    Maybe it is worth the try.


    UPDATE:

    yeah it was only luck for a period of time. In the past days I had my UI crashing more than several times in a period of less than a hour.
