I find it amusing that the thugs and bouncers of Defiance (Sensoths) are big, dark-skinned apes, while the aristocracy of the Votan races (Castithans) are as white as possible.
I find it consistent with a White Male dominated entertainment industry built on decades of inequality and stereotypes unfortunately.
Maybe one day when AZTLAN happens in about 30 years, it will change for the better...

No it doesn't. Just about every entertain meme regarding the overarching relationship between good/bad usually goes like this:
Good side: White, light, enlightened, wise, brave, erudite, kind, loving, etc. Most people in this role are lead male/female WHITE actors.
Bad side: Black, dark, de-evolved, slow witted, mean, cowardly, dumb, evil, etc. Most people in this role are either some minority type or some White person in a costumed suit.
Really? I have no idea what kind of entertainment you've watched over your 25-30 years of life to not know this common sense observation.
