    I quite like the Votan Blast rifle with Siphon.

    OMG. I just got these 2 guns with x1.25 and x1.15 critical bonus from vendors in the past hour. but mine had ego recharge by 10% during critical kill on them. Both has radiation.

    Psh. You can account for reload time relatively easily. As for crit multiplier, I'd make a table of 0, 25, 50, 75, and 100% of shots crit.

    EDIT:

    Because my curiosity has been piqued, I will provide an example based on the left AR in the picture in the above post.

    Firstly, calculate the time to empty the weapon's magazine, which would be 45/12 (# rounds / RoF) which gives 3.75 seconds; add the reload time (2.5) to this to obtain how long it takes to complete a "firing cycle". Next find the damage per magazine (Dmg per bullet * bullets permag) which is 222*45 = 9990. Now we simply divide the second by the first, obtaining the effective DPS of the weapon [disregarding crits] of 1598.4.

    To accommodate crit multiplier and/or accuracy, the formula is [D(X)+D(Y)(C)]/T+R.

    D= Damage per Magazine
    X= Normal hit accuracy
    Y= Critical hit accuracy
    C= Critical hit multiplier
    T=Time to empty magazine
    R= Time to reload

    Where X+Y <= 1, and 1-(X+Y) = chance to miss the target entirely.

    I'm sure there are ways to model accuracy and bloom but between my not really knowing much about mathematical modeling and not really understanding how accuracy and bloom work in the game, I won't delve that far. However, it does bear mentioning that in almost all MMOs, when people talk about DPS, they're talking about a maximum theoretical DPS that isn't really expected to be achieved by any but the best of players (if even them).

    Regarding this, I found that the VBI Assault Rifle had significantly higher actual dps when compared to the VBI TACC Assault Rifle. This was due to the TACC's habit of avoiding a skull whenever possible. The three round burst is wildly inaccurate compared to the VBI Assault Rifle which, when scoped, would place each bullet almost on top of each other. This allowed for every round in the clip to be a headshot on infected so long as the reticule remained on their head.

    This is also one of the reasons I find the Vot Blast Rifle has impressive actual dps. There is no dead time from scoping in, or from enemies rolling out of scope view. Since it's an accurate hipfire weapon with an even spread of projectiles you can track an enemy through all its dodging and jiving.

    I prefer the EMC Service Rifle to the VBI Assault. It rarely gets any mention on the forums though and I've only seen a blue one on sale in one of the hidden vendors standard inventories. It's got the same stats as the VBI Assault with lower recoil.

    I hadn't realised their stats differed in any way. I'll have to try one out.

    I forgot that the base stats reflect any bonuses the weapon has. It could be that the blue EMC Service Rifle from the vendor has a recoil or accuracy bonus that causes it in particular to be lower than the VBI. I compared it to the VBIs I have in my inventory. Next time I'm in game I'll look at the bonuses. At any rate the blue one is 2K and has electric and is in the standard inventory. I think it's the hidden vendor at the lake.
