....Saying PC doesn't count when calling something EXCLUSIVE is ridiculous. "Console exclusive" doesn't count. There's no such thing. It's either exclusive or it isn't. You can't brag about Titanfall being an amazing Xbox One exclusive if someone that buys a PS4 can still play Titanfall on his PC. The only way you can claim a game as being a reason to buy one console over the other is if there is no other way to play that game except by buying the right console.
How do you not understand that?
The thing is that the op is comparing the two console systems since PC is always taken out of the conversation when it comes to console gaming. If you want PC to be included than the unveiling of both new system really doesn't matter since they are probably going to be running technology that is already old to the pc. This thread is about console system exclusives and so take pc out. PC players can play literally any game on the pc is they know how to get it so that would eliminate any "exclusives" all together.
No the thread is about exclusives. There is no such thing as console exclusives. If a game is on a console AND PC, then it is not exclusive. That's all there is to it.
The whole point of something being exclusive is to entice you to buy one console over the other. But, there's a whole lot of gamers who play on console AND on PC, so there's no reason for them to buy one console over the other if they can just get the game on PC. The "exclusive" no longer has any special-ness, because it's no longer exclusive.
And you can't use pirates/hackers in your argument. The game has to be RELEASED on a platform for it to count.
And honestly, to PC gamers the unveiling of new consoles really doesn't matter, just like you said. I couldn't possibly care any less which system is better or which games are on what system. I'm getting a PS4 because everybody I know is getting one and I want to play with my friends that don't have PCs. If they were getting Xbox's instead, then I would too.
But you can't feel special for buying an Xbox One just so you can play your "exclusives" when the same games ARE available to people who don't own your super special console.
Those are the only type of games that I play. The only time I'll ever play a singleplayer game is Assassin's Creed and Kingdoms of Amalur. Other than that, I am full on nothing but multiplayer usually MMO gamer.
And Halo sucks bawls. Giant hairy monkey bawls, with an std. It's incredibly generic, has clunky movement, god awful sound effects (those ****ing needle shooters), FULL of children, and one of the WORST combat mechanics you can ever ever ever put into a competitive shooter- Shields that stop headshots. Oh sure you may claim that headshots still do more damage, but if I shoot someone in the ****ing face and they don't ****ing die instantly then **** you!
