Now that Rift has gone free to play, who's thinking of heading back over there?

I'm about played out on Defiance personally. Now that Rift is free I may try that again. Haven't played it in ages. Anyone else going to give it a try?

I tried it, I didn't like it. Maybe I should of played it more but it just seemed worse than D&D:Neverwinter gameplay.

I am, and one main reason is so I can mount a Hellbug. Giggity. But seriously, I am imagining my old mage, riding forth atop a Hellbug, with a baby-bug pet chasing along.

After my experience with this division of Trion, I will not play anything else from the company. The only reason I am still playing Defiance is that I currently do not have anything else to do until some other games release soon.

Unless Trion Defiance division pulls their head out of thier A**, I will eat the costs I already dished out for the Season Pass just to be done with the company. This is the first time I have ever felt utterly robbed by a gaming company.

Defiance is still going strong for me - but sure, I'd try Rift ... if it hit PS3/4

I tried Rift. Plays like WoW to me.

Lots of rep grinds. Lots of grinding in SLs. Rehashed/reskinned models and gear like they do in WoW. They even had a marketing campaign to pull in all the WoW boat people. (Join our Azeroth Horde or something)

If I'm gonna play WoW, I'll go play WoW. I'll probably keep playing consoles and pick up State of Decay and such until Elder Scrolls comes out. RvRvR combat sounds appealing in there.

In my opinion RIFT in todays mmo-landscape is pretty useless. There are too many better mmorpg`s out there.
The only thing RIFT has for itself is that its not dumbed down Action-Gameplay like most newage-mmorpg`s have.

I just tried it, and definatly didn't like the new payment model. The game itself is fairly good, but the way it works out with the new payment model, it's become a Pay2Win game. You can buy both gear, recipes, mounts and even Platinum if you vendor the items you bought, not to mention the whole boost section of iWin Buttons. So whoever is the better player is now the one with the deepest pockets. I'll just.. go play poker instead. Atleast the playing field is even, also when I add more money to the pot

Except it's not pay to win, it's a pay for convenience, just like this game.
The best items are from raids and world drops, not from the cash store.
When you can buy the best items from the cash shop, then you will have a point.
