the problem with rift was never the sub for me.

for me it is the incress in grind and lowing of options in endgame from the lvl50 cap to the lvl60 cap.

the storm exp for me just gave me more grind and less ways to do it.

oo and made every raid gear from lvl50 useles after a few days playing the storm exp.

When you can buy the best items from the cash shop, then you will have a point.
Unfortunatly, it's not just convenience. If you don't pay up for the items/boosts and do the Platinum Turnarund you're going to be so far behind that you'll have absolutely no chance against people with bigger wallets to get the latest and best items, and even get into raids. The items from world events etc. are really.. sorry, they're nowhere near what you can buy/flip in the store.

Hey, I do understand the business model of it, and i'm sure it will work out fine for Trion and the people who enjoy that sort of game. I just don't. I like a relatively even playing field so you can actually compare eachothers progress. Rift is also a fairly old game by now and it has been slowly dying for quite a while. This might give a new life to it. It is really the best MMORPG's i've ever played when it was subscription based.

But as it stands, it is Pay2Progress. (Yes, changed so it doesn't come out as negative, because it really isn't but you still have to Pay Up, or be Way Behind). That's the price model of it.
