Ummm.. yeah, that was Roper, if he hadn't made a name for himself by then, he surely had afterwards.

Defiance is an OK game. I enjoy playing it from time to time. It is no Borderlands or anything, but it is defiantly not a Space Marines either.
It's ok atleast you didn't learn your lesson by buying a lifetime membership on a game that ends up going f2p in a few months. So it could always be worse haha.

Actually, if you like the game you are playing a lifetime membership makes the most sense, whether it's F2P or not.

Doesn't make sense if you really love a game to not experience all it has to offer.

Well I don't think it is the EPIC fail that Hellgate London was, through Hellgate was a decent game and was a lot of fun to play in my opinion, in fact you can still play it it is now available in the US and is F2P with Micro Transactions. But, Defiance certainly has the potential to die a quick death espeically in a every changing world of MMO's which shrink the player pie available to games. Personally this is a nice, goto game if I don't have a lot of time, I have been playing Neverwinter and that is not a bad game either, but neither game is the next big WOW killer, fun games but more fluff then substance.

This is the only shooter game that I play, and I like it. I've not experienced all the technical issues on my PC that so many others have, I still have 1k bits on balance from a $50 purchase. None of my gear disappeared, that I noticed. The only game reason my play is paused is because voice chat isn't working like I require to enjoy the game the way I want to. I don't care for text chat in a shooter. That condition might remain forever, if it doesn't then I'll play and use up existing and then buy more bits. I just don't have any other big complaints about Defiance. I did buy the season's pass at launch.

I quit Rift when Trion insisted on having open world PvP events for required Reputation (to get some PvP gear) - on a PvE server. It was a change, not the way it was at launch and for a long time afterwards. If I'd wanted to be ganked by camping goons I'd have been on a PvP server but I wasn't (on purpose). So they lost a lot of money from me in result, because they made the game not fun for me. With it going F2P next Sunday, my consumer revolt is useless so I'll return and play Rift but if my complaint is still valid then I'll not buy anything.

TSW - well, lifetime membership there since launch and I regret it now. Too many reasons to go into.

No longer will I pay up front in hope and expectation. I'll have to play free and see if any game is worth money. I will no longer buy a game just to see if I like it, I think I've been burnt by that too many times.

Not regretting the Ultimate Edition I shelled out for (and had shipped to me all the way in New Zealand!) one lil bit. >.< I am enjoying the game and the show more than well enough. Not blind to the issues that are cropping up for people, but they are not game breaking for me.

    Hellgate: London
    Champions Online
    Star Trek Online

I'd be afraid/interested to see what he does next.
Star Trek Online not making any money. Riiiight

STO just released another Expansion with great success, and the game is actually really really good in its current state. I enjoy it together with a huge playerbase.

Oh, and I also had a Hellgate-Lifetimemembership. I regretted it 2 weeks after release when the Guy Fawkes-Event came out. Does anyone else remember destroying hundrets and hundrets of questitems every 30 minutes? I still have Guy Fawkes-Nightmares ^^

    most definitely agree
    problem w/software = bug
    problem w/hardware = glitch

I spoke to our developers on the matter and it seems you're correct that there are memory allocation issues with PS3s at the moment. I confirmed that this is a known issue and our development team is aware of and working to address this issue, and we hope to have a fix in place soon!

Also former Hellgate London player. Fear this game going in the exact same direction. Kind of makes sense. I mean the game was pretty linear and had no where near the content this does and it was STILL more entertaining.
