there needs to be the 4 little boxes on the gun you want to mod, and you cant be holding it on any of your load outs, and you need the green money for the mod slots

I noticed that mainly mainquest reward weapons are bugged if you try to mod them - you add it successfully but in the end, you didn't put the mods into it...

If you do the same with weapons which got dropped or you bought, it worked for me

Nevertheless sometimes even equipped fully modded weapons like sniper blue with 4 mods in it disappears after restarting the beta...

So modding weapons is definitely BUGGED!

I had one that couldnt then randomly found a new one that was green and had 2 slots open. I hope they do add cosmetic changes at launch when you add mods. Custom coloring your weapon would be awesome too.

I had a nice pistol with all four mods working on it and then the game eat my gun going into a 4 player co-op. I also tried to mod a sniper with 4 mods and it said it worked. Then when I looked the game eat all the mods. Hope they fixed this for the real game.

Not all weapons are mod-able. If it is, at the bottom of the weapon description will be 4 boxes. These ate the mod slots. If you don't see these, then the weapon is not mod-able.
