Wow you have a problem. No I don't defend them at all costs. I believe in complaining constructively about specific issues and trying to understand what is going on. If something's broken it needs to be fixed, but it does not help to just say "game's broken" and then not explain just what went wrong. No dev can fix something based upon that. Same thing with "boosts are broken". Ok, again specifics. And an understanding of how boosts work and what you can expect or should expect when you buy one. I don't expect irrational things but I do expect bugs, glitches, and all to be fixed.
Heres what I don't quite get. I knew when they gave us free boosts early on and I saw them run down while I was offline that the boosts were a rip off. Theres umpteen hundred threads about the subject too... so why do you keep buying them in the first place?
There have been a few reports of people being kicked from clans by the system rather than by a player. I know what you mean about people trying to get ahead with boosts. Its bizarre considering MMO games are generally grinds so you can make a more powerful character but defiance is designed to limit this to a point so players are pretty equal. The only reason I was willing to buy clan boosts is as a return for other clan members buying them all the time. Feel its only fair in my eyes. Not doing it until the glitch is confirmed as fixed.
It's no so much being dumb as it is some do want things now. Game devs realize that and know it's one way to make money to support their servers. It's why things you can get in the game that you can earn also are available for purchase in the store.
The problems arise when things don't always work well (always happens) or when someone does pay for extra stuff that they don't want to wait and earn and they then get bored with the game, there's nothing more to do for now. Well, in part they're responsible for that.
I know my brother takes time in games, trying to find everything and do and enjoy everything. I like to race and see what is going to happen next. It's my fault in part if the game ends too quickly but I know I am supposed to go back and find all the widgets and do all that stuff if I want to get all the rewards and achievements. There are very few games that I care to do that with-I do want to get all the stuff in Defiance though and it's meant for you to do things repeatedly for that. But there are things you CAN buy. Everyone has preferences.
