no. the games are apparently region-locked based on where your account is set up. and you can only play if you're stationed in one of 21 countries. so if you have a US disc, and tied your account to the US region.. you can't play until you get back home and connect to a US based server.

which also means any games you buy while over-seas become coasters when you return home.

and, the fun part, your microphone is 'always on'... even when the machine is powered off. thus all the claims that the xbone is already banned from being allowed on any military installation. i've seen only the proof of the mic being on, i have not seen any links referencing this rumored ban, but i wouldn't doubt it's existence.

so... why, in the name of god, would you buy one if you're going to be on a base?

it comes from FRAGOS.. orders in the military that aren't exactly posted on public websites. They did a similar thing with the Furby toys.

as for the console. while hilarious, that map above isn't far off.. with no region restrictions, multi-voltage capable, the sony consoles have always fared better with those of us that travel a lot, even to austere environments. Will the ps4 be as durable with AMD parts in it?.. I hope so, I have some doubt, but sony is generally very strict on their product performance.

ah, wasn't sure, as all i'd kept hearing was 'they banned it for security", and never saw anyone post up a link or press release or anything along those lines.

as i said, i'm pretty sure that even if it wasn't on the ****list yet, it would be by the time it was launched, anyway.
