Need Advice for Buying Lock Boxes

I want some opinions from the masses. I started out buying level 2 lock boxes in large quantities, but since the latest patch it seems I am having no luck with pulling Orange items. Before the patch I received about one orange item for buying around 30 boxes all from the same lock box, this is purely my experience. Since the patch I have bought the same amount of boxes but have only received 1 orange item. I am aware of the percentages for each level box.

So my question is, what do you think is the best buy to get the most Orange items when buying in bulk? In addition do you think using the same lock box is a good or bad thing, does it even matter?

I have 6 legendaries. All from tier 3s. I would say tier 3. Tier four is just too many key codes for me to spend to not get anything out of it. You can buy two tier 3s and have almost double the chance than buy one tier four. Two tier 3s=6 weapons vs one tier 4 which is just 4.

I was thinking of switching to tier 3's. any change to your success since last patch? do you use the same lockbox or always switch it up?

No. I stick with tier 3s. I've gotten a legendary since the last patch so no big change. It still make take some patience but its better than saving and wasting key codes on 4s.

i've gotten about 12 orange weapons in my time playing, all from tier 3 boxes and always from shondu's consulate, i've opened all tiers of boxes in different locations, just seems tier 3 at shondu's works best for me

I need to clarify my question. I was asking if you switch from one lock box location to another, example buying at headlands transit then muir processing and so on..

I have seen success using the same location as well. I have pulled 6 weapons, 1 shield, and 2 grenades from headlands trans.

I use coit tower in San Fran. I've gotten two from there since they added a drop point there.

for me it's always shondu's consulate, i wont buy them anywhere else as i've had no success anywhere else, i'll even travel to SC from wherever i am to buy one, even if the location i'm at has a lockbox, in the last 3 days at shondu's consulate i've gotten orange canker, vbi autopistol and an orange smg of some type(can't remember offhand)
with that said i may well have gotten the oranges if i'd opened different boxes, we'll just never know, but it certainly 'seems' like i have better luck just opening the same box all the time

So basically the answer to your question is tier 3 with the same lock box. You just have to find one that works best for you. Good luck.
