    Population state of decay

Don't know what it's like on the PC or the Xbox but ps3 in peak times on the EU servers its a ghost town.
I think a soon as they told us about how long we have to wait for the DLC at E3, many people just thought f this game and I get the feeling them people won't be coming back.

Trion how you going to combat this. My thoughts s you better start focusing on the player base you have lets face it you are not going to attract any new players, not on the consoles anyway. This game will go f2p within the month and will die on the consoles in about 4 months

The first DLC isn't coming till at least late July. (And let's face it, that's more than likely early to mid August.) The new shiny games are just around the corner. (Some have already come out like The Last of Us, State of Decay, etc) GTA V, BF4, Destiny, Planetside 2, Warframe, etc, etc. I've already quit playing pretty much, but if this was Christmas time? There's no way in Hell I'd be playing Defiance with GTA V out.

No, no DLC has been released. ETA is late July unless other problems arise.

As far as population its likely that many players are not back from the "Social plague". A lot of players went back to other games while the social features were bugged and its likely that they have not returned yet.

Give it a few week or two. Population should rise again.

Historically, once gamers leave a game, they only pop in for a bit, get reminded of why they left, and try again in a month or two when new content is available. That's best case.
The social bugs caused a lot to leave, but when/if they're fixed, most of them aren't coming back for anything short of new content.

I've been a day one player. The games good when you start off coz there's a lot to do but once you've done the story and the side missions the games is boring its supposed to be an MMO but it has no endgame and no social features. DLC was promised after patch 1.020 so most of the community is pissed at the fact they say its gone to be end of July which we all know will be August.

I started today and got to a mission where i have to take out some snipers on a ridge, there was nothing actually there to destroy - a few said it was server lag or something causing it, it's an interesting concept but end of july for the first of new content is a bit long

Yup the game still has bugs that have been here from launch. My advise try to play through them and don't think of the game as an MMO think of it as a single player game. You will get some enjoyment out of it but don't have high expectations

I never said that they would play like they used to. Case in point I go back to Skyrim on occassion just to kill time. Just started my 18th character on it the other day. xD

But yea, most will likely only come back for new content, which is ok, because some of them will get hooked all over again. Happened to me with ME3's MP.

Xbox360s population took a really hard hit in the last few weeks. I think the number of outages, the weird lag kick-out problem, and now the ongoing social feature bugs (sometimes never being able to talk to clan members, find people, group up, etc.) has finally cost a lot of people. I mean, it's Saturday....typically major arkfalls draw in I would guess about 40-50 people by the end....today I did 3 or 4 major arks and there couldn't have been more than 20-25 each time. The late night population was never great, but now I don't even bother playing if it's past midnight my time there is simply not enough people online for co-op or anything like that. I expected a dip in population right around this time (it's been a few months and there's probably no DLC for another month or two) but to see it sort of drastically disappear is kinda disheartening.
