I don't think it was courage as much as they didn't have a choice.

With as much as they were reportedly having have spent on FFXIV (more than SWTOR was), they had no choice but to stick with it since they couldn't get anyone to pay a monthly fee for it. (they didn't charge us for a whole year while they worked on it)

Plus, it's their flagship IP. It would be like Burger King giving up on the Whopper, Bungie giving up on Halo, or Coca-Cola giving up on Coke. They would have lost too many fans not to salvage that at whatever additional costs to them.

Plus with the Japanese, it's about the whole 'saving face' thing. It's something built into the culture that many Westerners don't get (pride, responsibility to fans) to quit on a project. Very shameful.

That shows in how they treat fans now. If anyone bought the old CE, you don't have to rebuy anything and get all the same digital stuff as the new I think. Plus anyone bought the regular game doesn't have to rebuy it, and I think (not sure) you get a monthly discount cheaper than anyone buying ARR as a first timer.

Maybe it's because in the summer people actually go outside?

Defiance players are silly: "I hate Defiance! Welp, I'm going to go play Defiance now."

Notice that I error corrected that illiterate post in the quote.

You either have a great imagination, or you truly are not that bright. I'd like to see the quote of me telling anyone not to play games please. If you had more than 10 years of life experience you'd understand that people don't game as much in the summer.

Almost as crazy as expecting to play a perfect game with a perfect amount of fellow players!

Or to me more accurate it's more like Coke giving up on New Coke.

I haven't noticed much of an issue, but then I'm on PC, might be a different world from the consoles. Any bur or glitch I've had is minor at best, and definitely not game breaking. Just look at the launch of Guild Wars 2 and all of the dynamic events that would just freeze up for weeks on end, they would restart their servers and it would break down again. We went through the same outrage from players and guess what?

When the community died down, and we lost a lot of complainers, it got better. And so did the community when everyone left we're the people who enjoyed playing the game.

No seem to me your trying to find an excuse for why the games empty. Sorry didn't know you were the grammar police and if that's the best defence you have lol.

Most of the bugs on console aren't even that bad, it just gets exaggerated by overly sensitive, underrappreciative whiners

Not talking about the bugs were talking about the deserted game population. Like I've Said it's Sunday and was 5.10 pm almost peak time and at a major even (siege) there was 7 people playing it.
Trion need to pull the finger from out there arse before the game dies. They need to push forward with some original ideas and bring that to the table fast.
