Check your firewall, adjust your ports as needed. I used to have the same problem, it was my firewall not giving Defiance love. Its not the game.

i know my software firewall (McAfee Internet Security) is letting it through because i checked but i dont know how to check my router firewall (Sky) or do the ports thing, i will be looking at all these things but its a case of learning as i go btw thanks for the, mainly , positive feedback.

pc here and i havent had one connection issue minus trying to log in during server maintenance. you should try to look at your local settings. if i can log on from crappy internet on a base on the other side of the world, that should tell you something

also, make sure you set your firewall to a game mode. they all have the option. my keys are ctrl-alt-shft-g

I love Defiance. Wish the problems got worked out and it would expand to it's destiny. I want to drive across the country doing new missions and then discover what happened to the rest of the world. I want to see what it looks like in next gen.

Try playing with McAfee off.

People downloading large files on the same connection could also be an issue.

such a simple obvious suggestion that i thought 'wont make any difference' how wrong was i, McAfee has real time scanning and since turning it off the game has been a lot more stable connection wise, i was actually able to get a good few hours gaming today. thanks Ensu for the help.
