    spawn point glitch

so ive been playing freight yard for awhile and ive noticed that more and more people are driving their 4-wheelers up the bank and then killing the people who spawn at the start point, now i find this to be very tasteless and rather upsetting. has anyone else had this problem? and do you think the devs should fix it??

Yeah it's pretty pathetic actually. I surmise it's probably people that aren't very good at pvp in general and need to resort to glitching/using bugs, to post a decent score.

There is a way to combat this however. I've been in a couple of matches where this has happened and what I'll do is use my cloak build and as soon as I hit X to enter at spawn point, I immediately hit the left bumper to go into cloak. I killed this one guy twice in the same match in this manner. He was just sitting in the corner in the back of the building at our spawn point. Also communication is key, let your team know what's going on and hopefully they are smart enough to do what I just pointed out, and it should take care of these bums.

BTW... I looked at the guys score at the end of the match and he had 8 kills, 11 deaths. LOL. It's a little bit worse though when more than one person is up there which has happened. I can usually kill one of them but the second will end up getting me unless someone else spawns there and helps out.

To be honest, it is not a game changer. The game mode is capture and hold, so if you have people sitting at your spawn, they are not capping points, thus you can still win the game. It is only situational and rare when this will cause you to lose the game.

There are ways to combat it, so it's not like they are cheating or glitching. Just adds a new aspect to freight yard.

As far as people who are not good at the game doing it. Maybe some, but I think it can be for those who are good at PvP as well. It's a fun thing to do to break up the same ole same ole. But for the most part it will NOT win you the game.

Yes- There are ways to combat it.. However it can be difficult..

When you are guaranteed to spawn with your back to them and standing, it only takes a moment to pull off the insta-gib headshot with a sniper or other high damage weapon.. They could constantly lay stickies at the spawn and trigger it the instant they see something appear there.. They could stand behind the spawn and take the shot point blank with a sawed-off.. They could stand back a couple feet and plant both stickies on you with a courier.. Not to mention they could block the exit with a vehicle.. The owner of the vehicle could be a cerb of a teammate that was unfortunate to be placed against his friends, thus deciding to work against his own team by blocking them in with the spawn killers.. The list goes on and on.. Then, when you own 0 bases you have no choice but to be stuck in a cycle of being instantly killed upon spawning, which in turn is not enjoyable for the victimized party..

Yes- Just because someone is spawn camping, it doesn't mean they will win..

However, preventing more people from engaging in the fight remotely close to the objectives makes it easier for your team to capture and hold the objectives due to having only a much smaller attack force than your team defending.. Using this tactic (keeping the enemy away from objectives) is not cheating in its own right, but spawn camping to achieve said tactic isn't the proper way to do it..

Before we go into morality of "what to do" and "what not to do" in order to play "fair", I'll just add here that this isn't quite the place to do so.. A separate thread would be more fitting.. I will say that the spawn does need improvements in terms of layout.. Such as making it more difficult (if not impossible) for people to get into the spawn area from the main battlefield.. Also, to fix the spawn building to make it more difficult (if not impossible) to block people inside of it using vehicles or any other means..

As said above, one person spawn camping is one less person out owning the flag points.
HOWEVER, it sucks when its your own teamate screwing over your team. This is happening more frequently with idiots driving the cerberus to the door of the freight yard start pt building blocking teamates inside. Then when ya dont own any of the 3 flags and all peeps spawn there, well ya get the childish point of the matter. ****ing ***** they are!

Let them fix the game with all the bugs and shield glitching as well as constant game crashing before they tackle this. Sure it can be frustrating, but you can adapt and counter it.

Trion needs to focus on more important things like NOT taking 5 days to fix the social issues with going to friends and clan chat.

I agree, all in in all, it is a tactic that can be used to upset the battlefield, i do it, but should i be chastised for it when the enemy team has 2 points captured and continue to go the spawn point just to kill me. And for those who have seen me in pvp, i dont need to do this to get kills, i easily go 20-30 kills and 3-8 deaths on freight yard, but this not only stops the monotony of cap and hold, and adds a challenge to me personally that i wouldnt get constantly playing the normal way. Me and my pvp partner tend to face 5+ guys at once while in their spawn. 2/3 times we come out victorious. Now before you say" you are camping, it doesnt matter" we tend to give them a shot after they catch on we are in their spawn by letting them atleast come outside. So while me andmy partner " the people who are actually good at pvp" distract the opposing force, that gives our...less skilled allies the chance to capture points without much opposition.

Add FishyLazr to the name and shame list. Spawn camping over and over. Oh and outbackjim yes you should absolutely be called an exploiter for doing it. It's not just "cheesy" like infectors, it's in bad taste.

I'm not exploiting anything, the defiance team honestly appear to give zero craps about spawn killing, case and point shadow war. And to support my claim, instead of modifying the landscape leading to the spawns, trion is simply making multiple spawn points at the starting area. And like i said previously, they do not have to spawn there, yet they do, just to try and kill me. Oh, and please, name and shame is against forum policies. Please refrain from doing so.
