Yeah those were mutated EMC soldiers and he was using a special Votan shotgun.
Since that is just for the challenge, it goes away when the challenge is over, I doubt it has anything to do with the Thundershock.

I think kantazo was referring to the shotgun which was used at the end of the stream.
It would be nice if we can get that shotgun as a drop loot..... YESSSS!!!!

The think you mean the Cleavers.
The other shotgun had nothing to do with the Thundershock either. It was a blue loot drop ("Heavy Barreled"... something something) what he found was a high damage double barreled shotgun that has a "radiation" (makes the enemy take more damage, a debuff) elemental damage type, but you have to load it constantly which was one of the things he didn't like about it.
