Toxic weapons have been removed since back in Alpha (I mean the icon, the effect is still there and uses the radiation icon). Any remaining toxic icon must be a bug.

Toxic and Radiation are two completely different yet very similar effects, not just a switched icon. There were more toxic weapons in alpha, and beta too IIRC. They are very similar, yet slightly different.

Here is my understanding of both:

Toxic (corrosive)is suppose to take effect on each subsequent hit after the 1st done to a target. So if you shoot 10 bullets and all 10 hit, the 9 following the 1st one is suppose to have increased damage. Supposedly, corrosive weapons were changed to (minus the faction sold one or the toxic converters):

Radiation: which has to proc to work, not just subsequent hits, and leaves the target vulnerable to attacks (more damage while the effect is active, regardless of whether or not the bullet in front of it actually hit.

A dev stated it was the same effect back in Alpha (armor reduction like effect). I can dig if needed

I said the same thing to someone and got chewed a new one by that person... claiming that these were the differences (same overall effect, different ways it delivers it). I asked an unbiased friend who uses toxic and he said the same thing.

    Interesting.
If indeed it still works slightly differently, my guess is to expect a database fix at some point to remove the remaining ones, as they shouldn't have made it to live in the first place (according to the devs).
I used to use corrosive in Alpha as well, I liked them much but I haven't seen one in live except the one in Top Notch faction vendor.

That is the only place I have seen one myself. I guess I should just give up and stick with my favoured syphon nano effect then
