Since then more developers have introduced contracts, challenges or pursuits to get gamers out of their comfort zone and explore more elements of their games.

This is where I've just realised trion are taking it a step to far and screwing me over. I cant stand the competitive multiplayer, I don't mind shadow war with a few friends but otherwise its pish poor. I liked the fact that the pursuits forced me to play enough of the different modes to properly make up my mind. The echelon contracts in theory are a decent idea but the guns you can buy are no better that the guns i find.

So why the hell are there no guns in the echelon vendors that require less than 100 rep. I thought it was bad enough to make me play to 600 rep for the trusted status achievement but as i was buying the 10 weapons from each vendor for the pursuits then when i got to echelon I realised there was some guy from trion standing behind me with a giant rubber dild0 saying "bend over you ain't leaving echelon yet".

Im not OCD about the pursuits. I dont NEED to get them done but at the moment theres not much else for me to do and thought it would be good to have them all done.

Does anyone else feel their being forced into competitive multiplayer (probably to boost their numbers) or is it just me?
I wish I could sell the Echelon Vendor weapons I bought back to Echelon and get some Rep Credits back...

Not every game gives you an actually achievable 100% completion. Sure, it takes a bunch of time, but just about anyone can get 100% in this game. I finished getting my Echelon reputation to 600 yesterday, which gave my 'trusted rep across the board achievement', which also triggered my Legend of Defiance achievement yesterday.

It took some time, and yeah, PvP gets old fast when you get killed by only bug guns, but it was no big deal really.

Try getting 100% in a game like Metro 2033 or Metro Last Light. Good luck with that, by the way. Heck, to even get 100% you need to purchase the 'ranger mode' gameplay DLC add on separately. So it is impossible to get 100% in the vanilla game itself, no matter how good you are at gaming.

What I hate most of all, is games like Alice Madness Returns, where you get an achievement for beating the game on Hard, and another for beating the game on Normal, and one for beating the game on Easy. Like I have any reason to go back and beat the game on 'Easy', after I beat it on 'Hard' the first time. Thanks anyways.

But I had no problem getting 100% on defiance. It just took some time. Good luck. =0)

EDIT: Oh wait, reread your OP... you're complaining about pursuits? Hey, I'm a completionist, and I have absolutely no interest in doing a single 'social' pursuit in the game, EVER. I don't play the game to need to team up with others, and my friends list isn't bloated with nobodies. Don't complain, just don't do it. Ever played Borderlands 2? One badass rank skill was like "go punch 5,000 people in the face to kill them", and similar. I still haven't got my Jimmy Jenkins badass rank met once. So good luck with that crap.

Sorry to double post, but the game keeps track of what your rep status would be with each vendor if you never purchased an item. Buy all the items you want, when you ding what would have been 600 if you never bought anything, you still ding. I researched this, and tested this, and it is true.

Im not a pvp'er either im not bothered about achievements but feel your pain about loosing pursuits as their directpy linked to pvp its just not my thing. Same can be said for people doing co op would be nice if you could do the pursuits in either solo coop or pvp it does feel like your forced to do certain things a particular way. But I have maxe my peace with it.
