Garbled microphones

Is there a way to turn mics off in-game on the PC version? Every single time I join a Shadow Wars match, there's some Predator/robot speak that sounds like a laggy mic and I dunno how to mute it. I turned "voice" off in the audio options, but it didn't do anything. I usually shrug stuff like that off, but in this case it's particularly annoying and actually makes it hard to concentrate on the game.

Go into PC settings and mute mic? also try to disable the VOIP in the game. Thats all I got ATM. since I dont use mics

How do I disable the VOIP? Nothing in game seems to work unless I'm missing something.
