Why didn't anyone in Defiance go stage 4?

Why didn't any of the infected people in defiance go stage 4 and start attacking others? I saw a lot of dead bodies but none went stage 4 and started attacking everyone in sight. I know this is a show related question, not a game question, but just figured most people playing the game are watching the show. wanted to know if anyone else noticed this.

Yep, I noticed this. Probably either the show didn't want to go so far with the sickness to make the Infected into zombies or the game wanted more out of the I-rath flu than just dying sick people for gameplay reasons.

I can only assume they received the cure before anyone managed to progress to Stage 4. If I recall correctly, I don't think anyone made it to 3. Doc Yewell (probably butchering the spelling) received the message from Eren seemingly fairly shortly after she diagnosed the plague in Defiance.

Realistically? One is a game, the other is a TV show.

But if you want plausible lore reasons,

    1) Different strain that became lethal in Stage 3.

    2) Smaller town = better quarantine and sedation of infected.

    3) Euthanasia

    4) They were weak and simply did not survive long enough to reach Stage 4.

Not sure if it was in the show or in the SyFy Sync App but it was mentioned that the Bay area had recently been struck by a more severe form of the disease (or similar wording). IIRC this was why the game saw stage 4 zombie-likes but the show didn't.

Found it in the sync under a 'Game Crossover Alert!' somewhere in the second half of the show:

Parts of the Bay Area were hit with an even nastier form of the virus that resulted in patients with aggressive behaviour, known as "The Afflicted".

Just from a pratcial point of view, if they had Stage 4 in Defiance, THAT would have been the storyline, nothing else. In a 60 min TV show you have time to discover that people are turning into zom....Afflicted, and defend/kill untill you can cure the un-infected.

They wanted the story instead to be about certain people taking advantage of the plague, and still fit in some side story action.... Its episode TV.

Plus since this is a show which has continuity, they would have had to deal with the consequences of a chunk of the population "turning" and needing to be put down. If you want a coherent storyline, then that would just occupy too much story real estate.

Besides its not a "monster of the week" show... "next week zombies pay a visit to Deficance, stay tuned!"

Any way of seeing the stuff in the Sync App outside of the US? You know, since there are viewers that actually live outside the US.
    Platform: PC
    Character: Blackwolfe (EU)

    Rolling with the Red Thugs!

I'm UK based, so it's definitely available in some areas outside the US. No idea about Sweden though. Good luck.
