Gamers unite. If everyone sticks together changes can be made. Microsoft dropped their DRM policies. Games can be played offline without internet connection, can be sold bought used and lent out and u can now take your Xbox one anywhere. I dont know how to copy and paste links but Google it guys. This is great news. It sucks they couldn't have done this in the first place. It would have saved me from reserving a ps4 also. I guess I'll still get both systems. What do you guys think? Great news or too late?

It does give Xbox more of an edge. Now only if we can make them not give us the crappy Kinect.
I don't like paying an extra $100 for something I won't use.

This does however make me rethink my pre-order and who is going to get it.

I agree, if they managed to remove the Kinect Camera add-on, and lowered the price to a comfortable price, I would also change my pre order for a Xbox One. There's still a chance they can change this *crosses fingers*

internet still required for initial installment of all content (yes.. disc based too). so again.. it's in the right direction, but still essentially a brick if you are without the webs.. like much of the world, or our soldiers.

they would have to come to the table offering MORE than what sony does to pursuade a purchase within the next few years.. atm there are just too many areas ps4 literally smokes them on.

Does nobody like change? even if it's better??? Dumb ****s. Everyone having the net and kinect would mean they could be better implemented and we could have better features. Now it's just the same old ****. You really think developers will have games that rely alot on the cloud now? NO. why would they, not everyone has the net now. Bunch Of dumb ****s

and while I enjoy seeing even more people to kill online, this is the kind of infantile player we wouldn't mind stayed on xbox.

Just a heads up, but you might want to do some research prior to ranting like a child. The PS4 will have a cloud service called "Gekai", which they announced after thier console reveal back in May. You act like if you don't have the online every 24 hrs or the DRM, that these things are not possible. The cloud is still very much posssible just more optional. This meaning if you're connected you get the benifits of the cloud and if you're not then you don't get the full experience.[

Were they ever actually interested in the DRM side or was it just some cover to get Kinect pushed through? Create a big hoo har, back down and people concentrate on that and not the other more worrying but profitable aspect of the new console...

Interesting piece from last year based on the old Kinect in relation to MS earning ad revenue from data recorded by Kinect.

Fast forward to now and MS have stated that the new Kinect can indeed read emotion so is able to provide mood targeted ad's to the dashboard, expand on that with the XB1's tie in with TV (and by association, tv adverts) and you have a system where your mood can be monitored and recorded, while you are watching adverts, to gauge your response to them. Im sure advertisers would pay a pretty penny for information like that yet Im sure the users wouldnt be getting any discount on their gold account because MS would make money from selling that info.

Thats without getting into the 1984 side of things that I'll leave alone but just because you're paranoid doesnt mean their not out to get you!
