XBOX ONE Update from Microsoft - They Listened to the Players

Never owned a playstation in my life, but was (still am?) thinking about it.

I want the ability to play games offline indefinitely with no internet connection (for example, at cottage). Glad it appears that option is now back in play with Xbox 180.

I don't see why they couldn't implement a system for their cloud and/or online services that would keep with their original plans.

I've seen way to many people with conflicting interests over this new-gen console war. Honestly, if it plays games, who cares? If you're a Playstation fanboy and hate the Xbox One, then don't buy it. If you're an Xbox fanboy and hate the PS4, then don't buy it.

Have you ever thought someone was stupid for saying their favorite sports team was better, either because they are their local team or just like the name? Because that's more or less what every fanboy looks like.

Sports is actually a good comparison, the only difference is that i understand blind love for your home team. What i don't understand is blind love for a big coporation that wants your money. I mean i guess that franchises are the same way in sports, but its different when your watching them live and rooting hard for them to win. the players are busting their butts to try and win.

either way there are 2 types of fans. teh one sthat are realistic and the ones that see things through their team coloered glasses. i'm a realistic one. I'm a jets fan and my team sucks. i'm very aware of it. then there are jet fans that think we can make teh playoffs and sanchez will ahve a better year or geno smith will be a rookie sensation and elad us to a super bowl yada yadda. the point is my team sucks but hey there still my team and i'm aware of it.

in console wars people are blinded by what they have. its the need to feel like they have the best product.

^ this guy, lmao at him! The PSN outage last 24 days, not even a full month. This was not some hardware or PSN run time error. The problem was "Anonymous" and we all know it. They could have very well, did exactly the same thing to the Xbox 360. If you think Microsoft could have protected you from Anonymous, you are more of a fool than we have already witnessed. Microsoft will never beat out Sony in the gaming world, they are on a continuous downhill slope that leads to a precipice they created after halting windows XP. They make crap, end of story.

And before you fan boy flame, I own a 30 as well and it collects dust now. I am, as well, not a full PS fanboy. I have played all system since the Atari back in the day, but Microsoft has lost sight of the "gaming" industry and they are getting what they deserve. Nothing like shoveling the dirt out of a hole that is filling up faster than you can shovel. Good luck MS!

sorry it was a 1 month outage. still unacceptable. CCs were stolen and used, 77 million users effected (largest security breach ever) perosnal info was stolen. passwrods were not encryptd and eveyrone had to change them and a ton of other issues

Heh, I still have my fat PS3 from release day and not a thing happened to it, even though I play it extensively everyday. My friend's Xbox(es) had 3 rings of death already. I wonder how the next gen will look in this retrospective.

I have 4 xbox 360's and my original xbox 360 still works fine. The only reason why I don't used it anymore is because the original xbox 360 didn't have an HDMI port. 3 out of the 4 xbox 360's I have work great but one has one red ring. That's a drive issue and not a 3 red rings of death.

I have two of my fat PS3's. One of them died last summer with the yellow light of death, so I sent it off to get repaired. It costed $130 but I didn't mind because that one is the one that is backwards compatible and has 4 usb ports. What's bad is that I sent it off and got back a different refurbished PS3 instead of fixing my original one. I'm not happy about that sh*t either. It was a different serial number. It works fine though.
The second PS3 that I have has no backwards compatibility with just 2 usb ports and no media reader. I only use this for netflix because if I play blu-ray movies, I see flickering green lines in the screen. It's basically useless.

Many of my friends with PS3's who played Socom Confrontation everyday like me, have had the yellow light of death multiple times. A lot of them had to buy new ps3's more the twice. It's the same with my xbox buddies. I still play my PS3 and my xbox 360 everyday though so who really gives a sh*t? If you're a gamer them game. Don't ever limit yourself.

Yeah, I know the Wiki article, yet the fact remains that no one can truly stop hacking. Those folks will always find ways around their target. You act as though MS could not have been a target. While you do have good and bad points, to be fair, you are also a Xbox Hardcore Fanboy. You make it insanely obvious but trying to spout otherwise. But you know what, that is totally okay. You love what you love. Just like everyone else, the problem is you are trying to justify that the new age of gaming is a super entertainment center..., well I have one of those already, it's called a PC. well your entitled to your opinion. I'm not a fanboy. I understand it seems liek I'm defending MS from the sony fan boys but i'm not. I'm just trying to make eveyrone aware of what the actual stuff is. as well as throwing my opinoins out there. If people listed false stuff about sony that were xbox fanboys i'd correct them too. I am a fanboy though, but a realistic one. Not of consoles but sports. I'm a die hard jet fan, but i'm also well aware my team sucks and i have no issues seeing taht or admittiing that. I hate the patriots and eveyrhting about them. i really do and i will find a way to trash them at eveyr moment, but at the same time i will admit they are a good team and much better then my beloved jets. So it is posisble to be a fanboy and also realistic at once. But i'm not an xbox fanboy. I would switch in a minute. eveyrone seems to forget every xbox fanboy was once a playstation fanboy. I bet you cna't find 1 xbxo owner that never had a PS1 or PS2. i had both. PS3 was the 1st system i didn't buy since the sega dreamcast. i mean i even have a wii lol. i don't play it, the novalty wore off and wans't enough good games to make me interested but i have one.

Also PC is always better then console. eveyrone knows this. the the X1 was a step towards matching the CP while the PS was an upgraded PS3. I lvoed my PS1 and PS2. i really did. but i made the switch to xbox on the original and if sony every puts out somehting i find betetr then MS i will siwtch back over. but i don't need to resort to lies.

Like i said i look at the history and the future.

MS has extended warranties for their crap hardware they released at 1st. So i feel safe that if anything was to ahppen to a new X1 MS would take care of it. Sony on the other hand while having fewer issues with the PS3 hasn't shown an ability to fix things promtply or take care of tehir customers. they just offer free stuff to make up for mistakes. sony has had a month long outage of online service, they bricked a bunch of PS3s with an update earlier this week which hand't been fixed still and they haven't commented since it happened. and all they did was say sorry and don't tough it until we figure out what to do. They ahve too many software issues IMO. 360 updates never have an issue. always smooth and always work the 1st time. one of my friends called their PS3 updates an "adventure" i mean those are facts. having a stabile OS that works easy with auto updates is important to me. having limited downtime is important to me. and MS has it right so far. The fact taht MS was the 1st console to have online play. sony had no interest in it until they were forced into it. haven't made a party chat yes (we'll see how it works on PS4) while MS has had it since the xbox. i mean the fact taht online play on the xbox was better then a PS3 is bad on sony.

I don't pretned MS is perfect thuogh. they have issues. the hardware on the 360 was crap and overheated too much. too many RRODs btu other then taht i haven't had many issues at all.

and i actually really hate MS. their support generally sucks. and after installing this new windows SBS in my office i really hate them cause the SBS is such a ****ty set-up. now their server 2012 is awesome, but the SBS is terrible. and requires an add on to do normal things a server should. which has me pissed
