my 2 cents on the game

first i think the game is great. graphics are terrific. controls are ok. the ui menu has a bit of a learning curve, but once you get use to it it is ok.
i love that the game seems to be more co-op and pve then pvp. Personally i am tired of every mmorpg that comes out lessen just to the pvpers and and destroy a perfectly pvp game.

really only 2 thing i would like to see change or the chat window. only one line? and the sniper guns. to me it seamed that they did no damage unless you are using the scope. also they are impractical unless there is only one mob. after the first shot you always have all the rest ******* and the refire rate then make the sniper rifle almost useless.

Sniper rifles are not meant to be a suppression weapon or even a defensive weapon. Unless you are in a totally inaccessible location where the NPC AI just cant get to you. ( up a ladder for example) After you first shot you need to move, circle, flank then or even retreat a bit, swap weapons while you move so you can lay down some defensive fire. Bear in mind the "bloom" effect which is the give away to your position.

o so that is that the bloom is. so if my gun had 0 bloom the npc will not know where the shot came from? like a silencer?

Actually bloom and boom are two diffrent things ... bloom is how the shot spread from center line after being fired over distance..

Thats kinda how sniper rifles are suppose to work, CoD has ruined their image with all these quickfire kills and what not. A true sniper takes slow planned shots, i didn't raise up my sniper rifle skill, but i played with them a bit and on most humaniods a well placed head shot resulted in a one shot kill. Most that didn't die in the first shot where usually weak enough to finish off with a melee hit or a pistol shot. If they get to close to you tap Q or scroll your mouse wheel to your short/mid range weapon to take them out as you relocate.

The chat system does need work, I never once saw a message or form of chat while running around. But then again there was often a lot of action and i wasn't looking in the chat corner. Every time i asked something over chat, i never got a response.
I hope they release a full on character builder that includes hair and eye selections. (had to restart the character builder a few times because they kept giving me white haired guys with funky hair styles.

For the sniper rifle, you can practice the tap and shoot method; i.e. point your rifle at the enemy, tap the scope key, then shoot and release. It takes a bit to get used to doing, as you need to get the timing down (shooting too soon will more than likely make you miss). I suggest practicing it in the starter/turtorial area, as it is a bit more forgiving there. Once you get it down, you can use it fairly effectively until you get a semi-automatic sniper rifle. I would suggest a smg or shotgun as your secondary weapon.
