I like the plan: Buy the game and:
* play for free -> pay for dlc
or
* sub and dlc without costs.

Imo, subscription is not a (100%) way to get rid of people cheating in games.

Nothing stops them 100%, but I don't think no one can argue that subs slows them down and cause less of them. Its a deterrent, not a problem solver.

I don't intend to spend a dime on this game. If it isn't F2P I wont be. If subs worked there wouldn't be so many games going F2P just to stay afloat. People; for some reason, are more willing to spend money on in game things then subscribe, and usually spend more. If they didn't games wouldn't be going F2P.

um...yeah monthly fees are a thing of the past, look at so many top MMO that went F2P, people have finally starting to wake up.

GW2 have proved you can have a good MMO without those fees.

GW2 hasn't been out long enough to really tell. In my opinion.

When NCSoft Unexpectedly Cut Paragon Studios and Killed City of Heroes (Which was still putting out new content regularly) I stopped playing any game that company is attached to. I never did Guild Wars because it was open World PVP (I have heard Guild Wars 2 is different but still won't play due to what I said earlier).

GW wasn't open world PvP...the world itself was instanced PvE to the individual or group that was in it. The towns were hubs and the pvp was instanced mostly to arenas or guild halls if you challenged other guilds...

I think he was talking about GW2 not GW1
GW2 is greatly different then gw1 and there is WorldvWorldvWorld PvP and its completely optional and butt load of fun (if you have a good guild that's really in to it )
