This is why I avoid these arkfalls only show up to kill the Hellion.
Sieges were fun but they are gone.... Oh well only enjoyment I had was Charlie.....I called him sledgehammer..... I ran him over and over and over again we laughed had a great time. But sadly Charlie is gone.
I would step over your still bleeding corpse for my morning coffee!

As many of you know, there is a certain type of arkfall that requires arkhunters to destroy crystals in order to progress to the hellbug hellion boss. The crystal itself has MASSIVE damage resistance to all forms of attack. The only way to efficiently damage the crystal is to let the hellbug skitterlings "bite holes in it", creating weak spots. If you kill the skitterlings, they don't make the weak spots. If you don't shoot the weak spots, destroying a crystal takes a really long time.

Using grenades, detonators and rocket launchers on the crystal kills all the skitterlings in the area. Doing so repeatedly means what should take under an minute takes much, much longer. An arkfall that could be completed in 5 minutes ends up taking 15 minutes.

If this was just happening in Mount Tam and Madera, I could just chalk this up to inexperience.
If these 'noobs' didn't listen to some of my ruder comrades, I could chalk that up to internet toxicity.

But I've tried to keep a calm head and reason with these players.

    Here be trolls.

I'm boycotting the "Revolting Hellbugs" arkfall events until Trion makes some changes. 15 minutes+ for an arkfall during peak hours with 40+ players is unacceptable.
Read up on the pursuits. There is one for 5,000 kills in an arkfall. Hence why skitterlings are fair game.

And, (not so much with the SF ones) but most do not get close to the timeout - so more kills, more spawns, more kill counts. Granted no experience, but kill counts are important.
And frankly - I have NO problem using my SAWs to burn down the crystal without the bugs. (One of the arkfalls always bugs where the bugs do not bite the crystal - still easy to get to the end.)

Your complaint - you are not getting xp/rewarded fast enough because someone is getting what they want. Good luck with that.
I agree, personally I rather have kills until I'm like 2.5k or so on the major ark fall kill count. Then I can go to the other way. Sometimes though I play with my setup to see how high I can get on the leader board, and then I'm mostly hitting the crystals. I don't complain about the rampant grenading and rocketing going on at ark falls. It is after all a good way to level up your weapons you rarely use. It is why I use BMGs there at most times as they aren't really many places outside of fighting Nim that you can actually level BMGs at besides ark falls.

It isn't 5,000 kills, it is only 2500 kills.

In the pursuits, under "Arkfalls", look for "Ark Hunting as a Way of Life III". It states, "Kill 2500 enemies within major arkfalls".

Yes, I avoid these. Too many *******es. I also wish they would just remove them completely, and never try to give us interesting Arkfalls again, as they clearly won't work.

Deal with it.
I have been lurking around this forum for awhile now and some of the stuff I see just drives me crazy. This kind of post is just utter bs.

The "red crystal" arkfalls require a bare minimum of teamwork, a "gentleman's agreement" if you will. You say those asking for a little etiquette are whinning, but it is the other side of the arguement that keeps saying "whatever, whatever, i do what I want." Take a look at what happened with vehicles and you'll see "no, actuallly you can be stopped." Arkfalls are MUCH better for it, too. (Vehicles not as much so)

Your excuses are just awful. "I can hold my fire in a shooter." - Really? "You can still complete them easily no matter what I do." - Define "easily." Without the weak spots it takes many times longer to complete the Arkfall and I have seen more and more actually wipe because of taking 10+ min. per crystal. "I am trying to do my pursuit." - Arkfall kills are easy to get. You could target the warriors, archers, and blastpods and still be helpful at "red crystal" Arkfalls. Hell, you can even target the sketterlings AFTER they bite the crystal they often go agg on players or start to morph, then they are fair game. In fact, killing them at that point will spawn more skitterlings to bite the crysral. Not to mention there are the "wave" or "blue crystal" Arkfalls to boost your kill count. Finally, you will quite likely reach 2500 kills long before 100 revives, so why the rush?

And finally, my favorite: "I payed for this game I can play it however I want." - You payed for a MMO where you knew you would have to interact with an online community. At the point that your "style of play" is counterproductive, goes against the instructions provided in game and is intentionally frustrating to other players you no longer have a "right" to it.

This must be something new in multiplayer gaming.

I play a different game and am noticing a trend of gamers playing multiplayer games but then complaining about being inconvenienced by other players because they aren't fast enough. In that other game it's less than a minute wait, but it looks like the same type of argument being applied here.

Maybe if players aren't moving as fast or doing what you want them to do then public MMO games might not be the best of choice. I always found it odd in that other game I play that instead of using the solo option for a mission the person specifically chooses to play with public players that may inconvenience them by being slower.

Have you tried joining a different phase to relieve this issue of other players impeding you?

if you dont like it then just use a bmg, heal a player for 100 ponts then leave. thanks to the bmg and its assist properties youll get full exp and keycodes. i think its funny that among the tremendous list of problems this is one of focus. how about the hellbug that gets spawned inside the mountain or the crystals that never cycle? that 15 min is an excellent oppurtunity to re-set a mastery or open some mod slots. quit changing the functional parts of the game making them all buggy and get some new action going preferably in the form of a new Co-Op instance or two,
