Yeah, the original poster of this one and the other thread I wonder if they even know what griefing is cause we dealt with it a lot in other games and simulations. In this game, every weapon is intended to be used in every part of the game in some way or another.
With that being said, the definition of a griefer is a player of an MMO that deliberately irritates and harasses other players in the game using aspects of the game in ways that the designers of the game never intended ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Griefer ). *Sighs* There you can read more about that on Wikipedia as well for the OP'er.
Unless something changed, you can't level your weapon in Hellbug arkfalls, which I think is stupid. Trion needs to give players a reason to stick around, other than making Newsin upset.

Yes I know what griefing is. Yes I understand that weapons are used in every aspect of the game and are designed to be, You can tell when people are just there to cause grief vs there to achieve something meaningful to the game. I have sat there and watched people shoot at the ground of a sniper because he was getting critical hits on the underarms of the main boss. I have seen people roll around in cars and place them in front of key points while they get off and shoot missles at skitterlings then pull their car out again and do it all over.
Please don't act like I dont know what I am talking about.
I find it funny that there are people flaming the post and putting words in my mouth. If it was griefing I would send the list if it isn't griefing then there is no need to send it. Ill just know when those people are around Ill go ahead and move on.
Again, the problem is not with the players, it's how the arkfall is designed. Instead of writing down players' names and being a tattletale, you should be petitioning Trion to remove that type of arkfall because that's the only way this issue is ever going to get resolved.

Again, when you started this thread you were attacking them. I've been in ark fall events where everyone was pretty much kill the crystal and we didn't finish the ark fall... WHY?
Oh yeah, stupid skitterlings and archers killing people left and right. And in the very few and rare occassions of bugged arkfalls, we'd be done all the crystals and nothing. So, your argument isn't holding up that well Newsin.
Look at it this way, proof, go look at your pursuits and look over what griefing is... The pursuits and weapon skills involve ark falls, so by using their weapons as they were in the ark falls, they were doing things by the rules of the game and in no way trying to use game mechanics in ways they were never intended, thus not griefing.
I understand that you want to fully complete the whole ark fall and most people do. But you have to also remember that the game is just that a game with challenges that need to be met. Those challenges no matter how trivial they are, can be done at any time and because its an MMO it can affect others both negatively and positively. But in the end, it is just a game... so just go out there and play and have fun.
That's funny as I noticed I've gotten experience doing the major and minor ark falls leveling up my weapons. I'll have to check next time through to be sure, but I do believe it works now on all arkfalls, just maybe not the last boss in the ark falls.
I dont have a problem with the arkfall. Why would I petition it? If it were to be griefing then yes I would report those offenders. Id rather not play with them. If it isn't then thats fine Ill just move on.
Then stop complaining about how other players are playing the game and just go out there and play and have fun. They are playing the game to have fun, you should be as well and not really worrying about how they are playing the game as they can play it however they want and you however you want... all that is provided you don't break from ToS (Terms of Service) that TRION binds us all to when signing up for the game.
Nothing I've seen yet at the ark falls, nor that you've mentioned here breaks ToS for Defiance. It isn't griefing, as their still legitimate reasons for what they are doing which is the 2.5K kills for that ark fall pursuit.
Again, just go out there, play the game, have fun... and Defiance and all that ;-)
