your fps are not as high as they should be ? possible soloution

hey guys, ive had alot of fps issues a short time ago, but i always knew that my PC should not have fps problems with this game.

i tried out alot, win updates, graphic driver updates, setting the process priority to high, defragment C, nothing helped.

then i did this: open task manager (strg+alt+entf) go to processes, then follow it step by step:

-right click on defiance process, set priority to low.

-right click on defiance process, click on set affinity and disable(dual core example) cpu 1, then hit ok, click again on set affinity, disable cpu 2 and enable 1 again, hit ok. click once more on set affinity and activate both processors again, hit ok.

-right click on defiance process, set priority to high.

im doing this every time when im starting the game, never had fps issues again.

let me know if it worked for you.

    cheers !

Thanks for the suggestions. I am far too lazy to do this every time I start the game though. I guess I will just play something that doesn't cause these funky FPS issues.

first id suggest testing if setting the game to low priority works if it does you can make the fix permanent

right click your desktop shortcut and select properties
on the shortcut tab find the Target line
    it will currently say
"D:\Program files\DEFIANCE\Patcher.exe" (where D:\program files is will be where youve installed Defiance)
    edit the line to add
    C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c start "lowered priority" /low
to the beginning of the line ie
    C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c start "lowered priority" /low "D:\Program files\DEFIANCE\Patcher.exe"
click apply, you may be prompted for administrator permission to make the changes, just click continue if your logged on with your admin account
when when you start defiance it will always start in low priority

note: "lowered priority" is just text and can be any thing you choose
    "/low" can be either
    /low, /bellownormal, /normal, /high, /abovenormal, or realtime
use caution if you use anything above normal as it may cause your pc to intermittently freeze and setting to /realtime will cause the machine to freeze for long periods of time or completely lockup

The low priority thing alone fixes the performance for me, kinda crappy that you have to do this all the time though. Isn't this something Trion should have been able to fix?

Look up FPS Booster/Windows Media Player, Its a Windows Media Player thing, you basically run windows media player process, and it boost every process running on your machine. Old shooter trick, Microsoft doesn't like it when you do this for anything other then Microsoft products.
