Plus, can someone please explain what this means:

How does the region lock works? Does it mean:
    1. I have to pick either US or EU server at the start and stick with it
    2. My region is pre-determined by my X360 System: NTSC-J, NTSC-U/C or PAL
    or
    3. My region is pre-determined by my X360 account country

    NTSC-U/C = United States / Canada
    NTSC-J = Japan / Korea / Asia
    PAL = EU / Australia

    - I have an NTSC-J SINGAPORE X360 System with an X360 SINGAPORE Gamertag account

    1. Can my NTSC-J X360 play your NTSC-U/C Defiance game disc?
    If yes, go to Q2.
    If no, go to Q3

2a. If YES the disc is compatible, which server would I be playing in? EU or US?
2b. Can I choose a server to play in??
2c. Will there be an Asia/Oceania server?

3a. If NO the disc is compatible, will there be an NTSC-J compatible disc?
3b. Which server would I be playing in with the NTSC-J Disc?
3c. Why is it so complicated?
You asked this a while ago in another thread and were pretty well informed on the situation.

All Xbox 360 consoles are region locked. This means that every 360 that rolls off the production line is region locked to either PAL, NTSC-J, or NTSC-U - depending on where the console is sold in the world.

Most Xbox 360 games are also region locked. It's up to publishers whether they put region locking onto their game discs. This is why you can play a PAL copy of LEGO Batman on your NTSC-J console (like you mentioned in your other thread on this same subject).

According to what we've heard so far, there are two sets of servers: US and EU.

Being that I'm in the UK, I know for a fact that I've played the Defiance beta with people who live in Australia & New Zeland as well as others across Europe. So, it's seems reasonable to assume that people who are playing on PAL consoles will connect to the EU servers.

At the moment, from what I can tell there is no NTSC-J version of Defiance.

Play-asia sell region free games for the 360 and under their product listings there are only PAL & NTSC-U versions of the game. Both are not confirmed to work on anything other than their respective regions.

In theory, if your NTSC-J console could play a NTSC-U copy (so that's assuming the disc doesn't have region locks on it) then you could probably assume that you would connect to the US servers as you're running the US version of the game.

This is all theory though. The only way to know if any of this would work is if you bought a copy of the game and tried it on your system.

It sucks you can't get a game you want on your specific system but this is an issue that's happened since the dawn of gaming consoles - not every game is available in every region.

Did you not try to get a beta code to see what happened when you fired it up? They were giving them away all over the place at one point.

You made a mistake...xbox has much more region locks compared to ps and its going to get even worse coming next-gen.

I think the problem people are having, and what Sledge is working on finding out, is if the disks are region locked, or if the game is locked. As many of us who are hard core gamers(not the I'm better than you haha, hardcore the I love video games hardcore) know, Japan(and much of the eastern world for that matter) is very strict about what can be seen in media. L4D2 in Australia anyone? The US, and the UK to a lesser extent are very lax in comparison when it comes to censorship.

My personal theory, And I've been dead on with my thoughts in the past regarding this game, yes the disks are region locked for censorship purposes, however we will still be able to play with our friends across the pond.
