The progenitor took me a few times but I got it with the SAW soon enough. I had the critical kill message pop several times but didn't get credit either.
I used the saw with overcharge, still waiting to hear back from trion. but the face that you had a critical kill message pop up more then once tell me there is a bug still. the critical kill only comes up if you get the kill shot.Originally Posted by maverick07

This is what I saw when I got both of mine. Critical Kill pops up for me everytime I do a Progenitor, simply because the only way you can hit it is critically. I think that may be the part of the process that is bugged. I always use Overcharge on my damage arkfall loadout so when I get the kill shot it will say Power Kill. The Courier method is a good way, but eventually you will get it. Sooner or later you will find an arkfall with not many people there. Hit it with everything you got.
Oh and you will know when you get it and it counts because your pursuit will update.

Got my Progenerator kill shot the weekend when 85% of people couldn't log into the game.... brutal way to get it but I am not complaining lol

I was able to get the kill shot on both of the bosses by waiting untill its health was about gone and just shooting it with a assault rifle. Its all about timing it right. Fire to quick and you have to reload before he dies. Fire to late and its already dead.
It is the only time i have seen the critical kill come up
