Death of the Death March?

During the Death March, we take on a variety of emergencies depending on the route we take. When we tried the first one, we were open to side quest and other stuff at first, but because of phase changing, we were unable to make any kind of "march" out of it. We avoid anything that could trigger phase changing, as it will split up the group.
