A few months ago I made a prediction about this games life span.

I said something along the lines of the game being 100% dead in August.

Tell me, am I not correct? This game has zero dlc, zero end game content, has not seen a major patch in ages and is overall a complete and utter failure especially in the sales market.

Well my prediction is coming true... is it not? Or do the fanboys wish to still debate that the game is in good condition and we dont need to push the developers to actually give us content because they are just the best group of guys and gals to ever code!

DLC was never meant to come out until July, if there is end game then that would defeat the purpose of an online game, patches happen fairly frequently and only when needed, it has seen strong sales and I always see hundreds of people during arkfalls at many different times of the day.

Sure doesn't seem like a failure.

Also please give a rest with the "fanboys" thing, saying that does in no way discourage people from speaking up for this awesome game, just makes you look desperate for validation.

In recent interviews they have said the plan is to release 5 DLCs between now and season 2 of the show. Smart plan in my opinion. Come back when season 2 of the show launches and we can discuss if they failed to deliver or not. Until then they seem right on schedule to me.

PS3 NA server is alive and kicking. Even with it being 6am on a Monday morning here on the east coast. As far as end game content, I don't even believe the story we have played has concluded. And you can call me whatever you want cuz I can call you stuff back, and the funny part about that is... it will never affect our lives (unless of course you are just weird like that). See ya in season 2. And if this game is "dead" by then, more arkfalls for me.

I about laughed myself into a coma reading this, you must be new to mmos? End game and Pvp is what keeps an mmo alive something to bring the community together. This has one of those two aspects, and fails miserably at the only one these "developers" decided to include into their game.

Calling it now, Trion will dissolve by September

I'm putting my prediction down for you all to see, actually this is more common sense at this point.

Trion will no longer be a game dev studio by September.

Why?

- massive layoffs (none of those people will be brought back)
- trion does a horrible job of communicating with it's community and recognizing wants
- rift going free to play (they will no longer have a steady source of income)
- defiance has sold horribly and will continue that streak
- defiance has no long term replayability for a player base to survive
- game devs simply can not code, this game breaks more than it fixes
- game devs will now be patching at a even slower rate due to staff cuts
- bit sales will continue to drop off and all profit will be made off dlc, which won't be enough

I am new to MMOs. But a quick google search confirms what I was thinking. Why demand a finality to something this early in its run? Its like the tv show racing through a seasons worth of stories in one episode, what are they meant to do then.

PvP is hardly something that people seem to be enjoying, what with the many complaints about shotgun this and infector that of which I mostly agree, but it hardly brings the community together.

Call me a noob or jumaloo or whatever all you people keep coming up with but being insulted by game content make you seem pretty petty and possibly in need to psychological help. We're getting tonnes of free stuff every week and yet people continue to find ways to complain about it, petty things that have no real context.

While i don't agree totally with OP i have to say the EU PC server is often a ghost town now. Very few arkfalls and fewer players.

The bolded part of your post above is because this is wrong. It was stated in a community blog post a month or two ago that they had delayed the DLC to address live issues. So it was originally meant for sooner than July.Still I am glad they are tying to fix issues before the introduce more in the DLC.

An end game in mmoland is content for people at the top tier of levels/ skill to do while they play ie raids etc. It doesnt defeat any purpose at all and its mainly single player gamers who assume end game is just that, the end. Not in online gaming its not. Its not TheEnd game its just End game

Just like the patches they give us eh? Like data recorders or kill three mobs. Thats petty and of no use to a LOT of folk who have played the game 4 times over now etc.
