And this is enough for you to keep your blood pumping with excitement?
New car. Well thats a cool.
New enemy. We need a new AI not a new enemy.
New race. Why? We can not see who is what anyway, everyone is generic...
New types of weapons. Kinda cool i guess. Blades? seriously, dont you have Rift to play around with blades...
New voices. ???
New missions/storyline. This one i'm realy excited about. I'm a sucker for story
Ok so what are we missing. CO-OP's more fakking co-op's and settings with hardmode.
More Clan options.
Way better chat system
A Central hub
Mailboxes
A trademarket (Auctionhouse)
A way to remove the fakking EGO restriction on weapons. If i want to give a weapon to my clan mate by god let me do that! Fine i can give it, but its no way in hell he can use it due to EGO restriction.
The EGO restricion is fakking usless since the weapon is basicly not better in any way from EGO 100 to EGO 5000. The system is a J O K E!

Really, lol? You're going to compare a thriving game with an iconic brand vs a game with a television show on a hack station that not only continues to fall in ratings just about every week, but has a game that cannot even keep up and synergize properly with?
I know your "I was a EQ GM" was supposed to carry weight, but it only makes you look like a clueless dinosaur when you defend this game vs others done and maintained worlds better.
DCUO gives $10 DLC packs pretty much every few months like clockwork. Still waiting for this game to push one.
edit: It's a lie you can't repeat the 'main quest'. If you do it as a Villian, you can do it again as a hero with a completely different story.. completely free. That's 60 levels of story right there and that part was there at launch. How much content is in Defiance again?
And when you roll a Castie, tell me how much you'll enjoy the new, deep and immense story that comes with it. Oh wait, you'll go through the same exact boring starting stuff.
If you consider riding around doing the same pursuits 'in the action', it looks like Trion has found it's intented market.... dinosaurs who came from EQ. (a game where you get four other people and stand around killing one mob at a time).
No wonder Defiance seems like fun to you after three months. You're used to this.
Predict the future can we now? And I don't have these problems you speak of, I thoroughly enjoy this game. Every major issue I've had has been fixed. Remember the ammo glitch, that drove me nuts. Problems with pvp? I don't play much pvp. Disconnects? I don't have that many, but every online game has some. Clan bonuses? Yeah, but I quit buying them when they started glitching. The small bonus it gives isn't worth the money anyway to me, I'd rather have inventory spots. Reducing population? I still have 50-60 people from my friendslist on almost daily. I'm always meeting new people that just started.
So the game was a little rushed to meet the deadline for the show. I had fun when it was first released, I'm having more fun now that most of those bugs have been worked out. The game is an infant right now, let it grow.
The EGO restriction is not just there to annoy you, it's there because one of the benefits of raising your EGO is access to some very limited gear progression.
As you increase your EGO, your drops slowly improve in two ways: weapons can have more slots available (which is somewhat trivial at first, but saves a ridiculous amount of ark salvage for high-level players because the cost scaling is badly designed) and they can gain inherent bonuses and synergies. Eventually, they cycle and have fewer slots but more bonuses, and then slowly add more slots again. It also appears that as you progress, you gain access to inherent bonuses that you can't find at lower levels.
Shields with effects and damage resistances also begin to drop at higher EGO levels.
If your clan mate wants to use a special shield and weapon with multiple bonuses, they'll have to raise their EGO level to the point where they can use them.
New Car: yeah, more variety is good.
New enemy: What's wrong with the AI? I've played games with worse.
New Race: Starting to go along better with the lore. I do think there should be racial abilities, but hey, I'm staying human anyway
New weapons: more variety again. People do use melee weapons in a firearm world. BTW, I don't play rift :P This is my first Trion game, and while Trion is no Bethesda, I still am impressed
New voice: yeah, now everyone will not have "generic voice number 1"
New missions: I agree with you there.
Now your suggestions:
Co-op: heck yeah, I am a co op nut. I like these co ops A LOT better than DCUO. I would love more of them. A hard-mode would be awesome as well, but if they actually made it hard, and made rewards worth the extra work.
Clan options: I can't really think of many more that I would use. Maybe the ability to queue up for PVP or ShadowWars (not in group) and still be on the same side as your clan. Then again, if that happened, I wouldn't have gotten my vehicle kills so fast
Chat system: That's what I forgot! They've already said they are rolling out an entirely new chat system, more MMO styled. I can't remember if it was on this DLC or not, but they did say it. And that is probably why they aren't fixing the one now. So the chat right now is a minor inconvenience, but on the grand scale of things, I would rather them focus entirely on the new system.
A Central Hub: It would be nice to have a larger city type place, maybe one you have to zone in to be in. There are possibilities though, Fort Defiance is in San Francisco according to lore, yet it isn't on our maps (yet).
Mailboxes: I have one, it's called PSN. Two if you count the limited one they give you on this site.
Trademarket: I am very iffy. It is structured with limitations and is more like an in-game forum or NEED/WANT (and could be linked possibly to mailboxes, so helping you out) then maybe. If it is more like DCUOs, where you can see the exact same item sold from 2,000 to 2,000,000, or everything being sold for millions, then I will pass on that and stay on the forums
EGO restrictions: maybe, but what people don't realize is that items are tiered by ego. I've sold 3 low ego orange shields and currently use a blue because the cap is a lot better (on the same brand of shield). A purple 4000EGO grenade makes an orange 400EGO grenade look like a white. Better rolls on oranges higher up, etc. Plus it gives something to strive for. I had my AR for over 800 EGO before I could use it. Now you can't pry it from my hands.
/Don't need to rant cuz I think there is a lot of potential in this game
Uhh... no you are not correct and no your prediction is not coming true. Does the game have its flaws, sure. Is it boring after about 3 days of dedicated play, absolutely. Does that mean no one is going to play it or spend bits on it anymore... son you really dont know much about sales and marketing do you? LOL
What, your back troll?
now THATS impressive...hangin around a forum for 3 months on a game you hate? you sir, have dedication, and I salute you!
You have completely missed my point. I wasn't referring to Everquest of today, I was referring to to Everquest back then. Only a few years old (it was about a year old when I started playing it). The point was, it was very limited in what you could do. It didn't have a grand variety until years after launch. The point of me saying I was a GM was to say that I had a more knowledgeable idea of what was going on behind the scenes than people who were just playing it. BTW, you bolded the statement, maybe you should re-read it and you might catch my points.
As far as ratings, you need to check how Neilsons work, man. Doesn't matter anyway, I don't base my opinions off of what others say. We call those people sheep where I am from.
DLC for DCUO consisting of what? A lair that I have to spend more money on. An unfinished city the size of a crackhead's apartment? Oh, T3, T4, T5 armor, that you had to grind a week for just to get a pair of boots (and it was basically cosmetic anyway), new playable heroes in pvp (which you had to pay more real money for to use). New powers that they nerf the next week after launch? C'mon man, yeah dlc comes out 1 time every 3 months, but how much of that is really any good?
BTW, Still waiting for this game to release one, yet you used DCUO's DLC as an example. You know, the game was released in January, 2011. And, "There were a number of technical issues that came to light when the beta was closed which were only partially resolved by the game's release." The first DLC was Fight For The Light, which was released on September 6, 2011! Would I rather wait from the beginning of April to the end of July, or from January til September?? Hmm o.O
