Sure they could give hard dates for DLC added in 2013, they're already two years into the game and are just reskinning everything hoping people won't notice. Maybe they're doing more with the next batch seeing as they're now working with twice the development time of an Assassin's Creed game....

    1. May be, but it sure seems like they purposely deceived their intent to lure us into purchasing the pass. I won't make that mistake again with this shoddy company.
    2. I never knew of an omline game without end game? Just because a patch or expansion moves that end game up doesn't mean there isn't anything to do when you get 'done' I apologise you can't grasp the concept. Most can thus the issue at hand.
    3. Proven it has had terrible sales many times over so your dead wrong and of course a lot of people at arkfalls. they cut it down from three to two so it would LOOK like there is many more people doing them.
    4. Saying it doesn't look like failure is like saying being single doesn't mean your not dating anyone. =P

    5. Thanks for the 'paid' advertisement.

Wow, just wow. Someone's tighty whities are extra tight today.

It's completely ridiculous to think Trion deceived anyone regarding the season pass. Considering most MMOs are games that hopefully will have more than one season then you can gain understanding. Those who keep trying to link all this to a tv show's season have as yet posted no proof that Trion ever indicated that-I searched.

The only thing that I ever found (and I posted it) was that they said by the end of the year, but then that could just as easily have meant the end of one year of life for the game. I don't know of any game that I've played recently that has had 5 DLCs released in the timeframe some have deluded themselves into thinking Trion could possibly achieve, and might still achieve anyway.

We all bought the season pass for some of the same reasons people pre-order games; because we got some instant rewards for doing so, and we got a discount over the full price of buying separately. If Trion refunds people their money for the pass, I assume they'd be willing to pay Trion back for the lockbox and hellbug hat they got for buying it.

Just because Defiance doesn't have an endgame which you think is necessary because well "everyone else does it", that isn't a bad thing. In fact, they may have learned from the mistakes Bethesda made with an offline game, Fallout 3. Sometimes open-ended is just more fun. Trion has created a game that appeals to a lot of people for different reasons. I assume the endgame you want is some sort of metagaming PvP where everyone eventually just uses one build to fight each other-if not, sorry, you need to explain what you'd like to see in an endgame.

In other games that do tend to devolve into this scenario with so-called Pro Players (vomit) pushing the game to be all about a PvP economy and PvP builds, it is well-known that this is a very small segment of the gaming community. Trion may be trying to buck that trend. It's just that those PvPers have some very loud voices, and all trading, and other gaming things start to be taken over by them. I'd rather not see that kind of thing happen with this game, thank you very much.

They actually cut down on the number of arkfalls in order to get some control over some of the issues we've all been having and they've gotten complaints about-lag and all those other things that most likely have been due in part to lag. To characterize it otherwise is ridiculous. And actually I've noticed that arkfalls are frequent-they seem moreseo to me. I no sooner finish one then another one pops up. So, whatever-you have no facts to back up just about anything you are saying.

And no, I'm not a fanboy. I want things fixed, but I don't think it helps to be either completely blind to mistakes Trion has made or the opposite, to believe they are the anti-christ sent to destroy us all.

The actual unvarnished truth is no one has more of a need for this game to be a good experience for all of us than Trion. We can move on to other games, but in all that they've said they want us to really like this game. I do. It has things that need to be fixed. I'm excited for the DLC to come out. I'm not blind to things they've done wrong or badly, and I'm not expecting irrational things either.

Not trying to be a stickler, but they moved that patch to this Wednesday, they haven't cut down the number of concurrent arkfalls yet.

Personally, I see players all the time. I agree with kurai that the game is doing fine. Most of the time the only complainers I see are those not getting to be the major-domo top beast dog in the game or those that aren't being silver-spooned free content or such. Not stating that this is ALL the people complaining, just most. On that note I also saw someone state this game isn't for everyone and is in fact somewhat of a niche game that many will like an many wont. I for one like the concept of being able to work w/ any player regardless of EGO level and still have all contribute and add to the experience... I don't need to be known as the "top player" nor care if someone else is the "top player". I think the DLC coming during the off season of the show is a good idea, and that the game is still quite fun. Yes, there are flaws. Nothing is ever perfect though...

Ill stick w/ the game and I am sure there are quite a few others who will also. I also like the show itself so I enjoy the overall experience. Many will agree w/ me & many wont. That's why they are opinions and everyone is entitled to their own. In the end it's all good either way. Enjoy what you like

I agree. For those that don't like it, well sure I'd rather you did-more players does mean a longer lived game and maybe better content and all, but that's not a sure thing. More players doing random things and who are bored so they look for glitches and such, might actually make the lag bad.

I actually do think it's refreshing to play a game that is not all about being that top dog, even though some play this game as if it should be. For me, its strength is in that it can appeal to people that don't want to beat the living crap out of some other player in PvP or that just likes playing together and doing things with real friends or random others. Getting into someone else's car just never gets old for me.

I also think one of the game's strengths (that some hate) is that no matter what color your gun or whatever your EGO level, you can still have a pretty good weapon, contribute, and not be left behind. Sure, there are super advanced mega-players and all that. What they may not see is the game may be introducing tougher elements as it goes along-trying to be inclusive rather than creating this experience that only those super players can enjoy.

Lotta talk about DCUO in this thread. Meh...I played it before it went free to play and just couldn't get into it. I was too spoiled by City of Heroes....heck even Champions was more fun.

You wanna talk about horrible servers, constant DC's (I firmly believe the name of that game is DisConnections Unlimited Online), a horrible auction house system, milking the customer dry for every penny they can, lackluster DLC (sure it's frequent, but what do you get? Maybe 1 power, a couple of new co ops--which half are still broken, some cosmetic stuff, and maybe some new items that, unless you pay more money, will take forever and a day to get). Don't get me wrong, I loved DCUO at first, and it was my 1st MMO in many years. After very repetitive gameplay (no, you cannot repeat missions with your current character, but you can make a new character and play through the story again, then make a new one and play again, then...wait, I'm out of character slots. Guess I need to pay 5 more dollars to have another character), spending an hour or longer in a co op, just to constantly have it wipe cuz not everyone had uber gear, and not being able to stay connected for longer than 5 minutes in the watchtower, I had to walk away.

This, a thousand times this. It's good to be competitive, to a point. Defiance allows a player with an ego of 1 to jump in and compete with players of an ego 5000. Limited system designed restriction, and in almost every mmorpg I've ever played the "end game" content is the exact same thing; grind dailies- get better gear- grind dailies more- improve said gear- expansion- grind new dailies- get new better gear- etc, etc, etc...
