That's the thing-- they have the right philosophy, but they implemented it so poorly players can't see it. So they ask for other genres to get copy/pasted over.

I came to this conclusion not too terribly long ago. It is one of the reasons I tried out Defiance. I will not be giving any MMO with vertical progression/raiding a second look ever again. And if Destiny has vertical progression, then it is out too.
Someone actually posted here, back around launch, stating that they usually don't enjoy the gameplay of MMOs, but just do it for the loot. How sad these people are.
If chat is your biggest concern especially with DCUO, I don't know what to say.
But that seems like a minute thing especially since most people don't use it anyways other than looking for parties, for which it works fine. Most of the communication done there is like here, with voice additions. You seem to talk a lot about 'chat' and less about content. I guess reading text is more important than actual content, or do you consider that content? People aren't leaving this game because of chat issues.. that's just sprinkles on the ice cream, lol.
Oh, Trion's 'working on it'.. adding new content? You mean they aren't just sitting around and watching TV? Gee, that's good to know. I guess having to have customers tell other customers they are doing their jobs is a good idea. I guess only have 25% of your workforce left tends to make things go slower, amirite? Well, if they go any slower, Trion will can a few more Defiance people if players keep leaving.
You say you're going to be 'pissed' IF they reskin? This is Trion, mate. Look at Rift and you'll get a very good idea how they feel towards reskinning. Four different kinds of turtle mounts. Gear at level 1 looks like gear later on. Plus as I said, they have far less people to do it with now.. probably have some poor bloke working between two desks 6 days a week.
I hope you remember what you said about DCUO's reskinning when the Sieges come back with different mobs but the same thing shortly, just like the rifts in Rift. But based on what you say I doubt you'll make a stink or even remember you wrote that. You'll claim "I don't care if it's the same mobs, this is FUN!"
Which is exactly what all the people playing/paying for DCUO said about their "reskinned" DLCs.. which is a ton. But you know.. at least they GOT their's to say that about.

I think the DLC is going to be even more than we have been told. They are going to want to pull people back in that have lost interest. We shall see

Never understood the "I'm an atheist so I have to go to a church to tell everyone that they are wrong" mentality. Maybe it comes from not enough attention as a child.
I have to say I look forward to a good debate too. It makes things interesting and if someone changes my mind through careful and reasoned debate I respect them all the more.
