F removing vehicles, i aint spending 15 mins of my life ( wasting) to run to a damn location, you'd do more running then actually playing the game

and i do maybe believe that the dark parts of the map will be the DLC? i don't know, just my thought

I'm quite honestly confused as to how anyone could think this. As MMO worlds go Defiance has the smallest game world I've ever seen -- by far. Driving from one end to the other the long way takes maybe 15 minutes, and that's being generous. Driving it the narrow way would take, what, five, tops? In Fallen Earth driving the length of a sector (there were three at launch) takes forty-five minutes, give or take. Flying the length of WoW's The Eastern Kingdoms or Kalmindor (the two continents at launch) takes about the same amount of time. Even in Rift, a game loudly and often criticized for its relatively small launch world, I seem to remember it taking somewhere around a half hour to ride from the starter to end zones.

Whatever Defiance's virtues, a large world is not among them.

Did that. Played through the campaign 3 times, the 3rd only because i had those crystals and ferrystones. Sold it back to Gamestop.

The following stuff is what i would liked to have seen:
    • All fast travel points removed.
    • All vehicles base and top speeds reduced by 20%
    • Vehicles Cost 3 times as much as the do now, bearing in mind that you're given a basic runner for nothing very early in the story.
    • Vehicles now become CUSTOMIZABLE and can have small speed boosts up to the 20% i suggested removing (but you pay scrip to gain access to), paint jobs, cosmetic exterior mods (things like outside lights, fuel tanks, bull-bars, tyre spike thingies and so on) that can be individually placed and chosen at fixed points by the player. Gone would be the massive list of vehicles, instead you can have one or two of each kind of vehicle that you take to somewhere like Torc's, pay a fee and customize to suit yourself.
    • New customization parts and full skins could become story and loot rewards to add some variety to the loot chase.

Would give players something else to fiddle around with and thinking about it a bit further you could even do a similar sort of thing with weapons. Make weapons (at least appearance wise) more modular and let us pick the colors and parts we want our guns to have and appear like but charge us scrip and arkfall parts for the privilege.
Add this to your top notch ideas

Vehicles gets beat up and NOT regaining health until you take it to a garage shop. If it breaks, it's placed in one, and useless untill you repair it. Make the garages where the instant spawnpoints are located today. So, you spawn at one of these sites when you logg on, you claim your vehicle and you drive. If you do a sidemission, you may switch vehicle for that mission, but your other is waiting when your done. You want to switch vehicle type, go back to the garage. And it stays where you leave it until you logg off/on again if not wrecked. You modd it for Scrip, you repair it for Scrip. And add this, world do damage. No more jump the highest peak without consequence....

This way, everyone is equal in the time challanges. Today you can look at the stars at make it to 1st Place if not maxing the level for that perticular vehicle type..

It's silly as hell now when you get your car blown up hitting an enemy but not running at max speed into a mountain wall...

You could add the same with weapons, bullets are collected as today, but you have wear and tear on the weapons and if not maintained, they will brake to a point they are not unusable.

I played a game that had this in it, Wasteland not a bad idea. The game though sucked badly for the rest...

It also had gambling and you hade to claim a quest/mission. Not just cross of a list already given to you. So, keep main story, drop the sidemissions and make them so that you have to find/claim them instead. That way you add more locations on the map and get a route lined up. So, you discover them either by claiming a mission at a location, or you drive/walk by it when roaming free.

That is ALL The fun! Reminds me of Mercenaries and I love it for that. The worst part about LOTRO IS the travel... can't stand it.

NEVER REMOVE VEHICLES OR FAST TRAVEL PLEASE!

Seriously, driving around is half the fun in this game. Fine, so remove fast travel points. But vehicles? Hell no.
